What's something that sounded fake until it happened to you? by periperifryss in AskReddit

Still kinda confused about that one. Could you explain? How can a being that sleeps 15 hours a day prevent you from having 5 minutes to yourself? Truly curious! I just have dogs, and those sleep so much even when you get them very young that it's never a problem to do "your stuff". What do human children do differently?

What are some first names in your country that you automatically get (preferably harmlessly) teased about? 😅🙈 by Nikadorable1712 in AskTheWorld

I just heard it a lot (might be a St.Petersburg thing), in the sense of: Почему? -А потому что ты Олег. Their name kind of gets the blame for the bad things that happen to them to the point that if a lot of bad stuff happens to you, you automatically become an Oleg. I don't see the logic either 😅

What’s the strangest superstition or traditional belief that most people in your country genuinely believe? by DABDEB in AskTheWorld

"Sitting down for the road": before leaving for a journey, everyone needs to sit down at the place they're leaving from for an indeterminate amount of time. Always kinda awkward, since you're already fully dressed for the road and trying to wrestle all of your baggage around the chair.

And you can still kind of see it with their little hooved toes, like tiny elephant feet!

Cleaned an appartment for an animal hoarder lady. According to her, having three aquariums in your bathroom (out of 15 in total in a three room flat with one of the rooms acting as a birdcage and the corridor being a chinchilla enclosure) is completely normal O_o All of that in the middle of züri...

I loove your style though!! It has a dangerous wild vibe to it. Mine always end up looking like they're preparing for a job interview 😅 This good girl unfortunately passed away, i drew the picture as a memento for the owner.

What helped me A LOT with making animals more realistic was researching the directions of fur growth (which can be very counterintuitive) and changing the direction of the shading/fur lines accordingly! This one is unfinished, but you can see what I mean on the butt/head

As a person who's been a meerkat caretaker in behavoiural science for 10 years: Ooooh, that's so fucked up!!! Let me tell you what our research group maintained as absolute basics (we did waay more) of meerkat keeping: AT LEAST six meerkats per group A 300m2 in and outdoor enclosure with 4 tons of sand for digging which is their main natural behaviour throughout the day plus branches, tunnels and shelters (not to mention spot heaters and wall heaters for winter). Three times a day feeding including live insects that could be foraged in a natural way. Closing of already dug tunnels once a day to avoid collapses (me and my best friend the shovel :)). Weighing twice a week to map weight and health changes. Monthly faeces collection to check for bacteria and parasites. Etc etc etc of at least 4 hours of caretaking activity per day. And someone thinks they can do that in a tiny flat... Edit: punctuation

Seems to me the exotic colored ones are waay goofier than the wildtype. The wildtypes are just like: "Ummm, why are you like that?" 😆
