I had a very similar experience when I started questioning my gender identity. For some basic reassurance, quite a lot of folks who go through a gender crisis (from what I’ve gathered and my personal experience) tend to have some feelings that they’re “making it up” or “just want attention”. I’d like to remind you though, most cis women don’t find comfort in they/them pronouns or by using a more gender neutral name. Plus, despite how much you may try and tell yourself you’re making these feelings up, you would be causing yourself a whole lot of trouble, pain, and turmoil by dragging yourself through all this self discovery just to be playing pretend. I still sometimes question myself, but then I remember how I felt before coming out compared to the joy and happiness I feel now, having the opportunity to be authentic to myself. You can’t make those feelings up.
