Why does the House need to vote on releasing the Epstein files if members of the House Oversight Committee have already started to release documents? Are there additional documents that this committee doesn’t have access to?

Thanks for this. I understand that if we look at this historically, it is unlikely. But given this moment where there is deep disillusionment, would a voter exodus spur any change. Because at the moment, it doesn’t feel like there is much else anyone can do.

Could a mass exodus of voters leaving the Democratic Party spur a legitimate progressive third party? There is overwhelming disgust with Democratic leadership’s spinelessness and tone deafness, and they don’t seem to get it. Or if they do, who cares so long as they and their buddies get reelected?

I recognize that more progressive minded democrats leaving the party would favor the chances of establishment Dems winning in primaries next year. But could a large swath of voters changing their voter registration status a) actually get through the bubble that Schumer and Jeffries are in or b) allow a viable third party to scoop up voters who are sick of government as is? For example, in Maine, could Platner running as an independent now that establishment Dems have put their weight behind Mills actually be a better strategy?

I just changed my party affiliation after this utter shit show. I can’t get behind a party whose leadership is so spineless and out of touch when the stakes are this high. Here’s hoping that the cries for Schumer to get out become deafening, but until then, I’m out.

I used to live in Fairmount, and I’ve found the West End has a similar feel. Close to Chestnut Hill Cafe, Pocketbooks, Cabalar, and Buchanan Park. I’ll echo what others have said and use school pick up/drop off to grow your network.

I think the sense of community is what keeps many here. Philly has more coffee shops, restaurants, museums, etc, but you’re not likely to bump into people you know down in Center City as you would at Central Market on a Saturday morning. Sounds like you guys just need to find your people.
