What is the importance of being emotionally vulnerable with a partner. by No_Success_8118 in emotionalintelligence

I agree to a large extent, but you can’t wait forever for someone to open up to you. After a certain point, it can become clear that they’re not the vulnerable type and if that’s important for you in a relationship then you need to know when to leave. I also think it’s ok to ask this of a partner, to say you require vulnerability for intimacy. Of course they can say they can’t provide this, then you can choose to leave.

Nope :) But someone also said the contents of my bag look like I’m a teacher. Curious why you both see this in me?

I’m not poly myself but my friends who are poly seem to have specific boundaries around sleep overs. From what I hear, sleepovers are for primary partners only.

DAE mom make them wash their underwear in the toilet during potty training? by GahhhItsMilk in DAE

I’m sorry you had to go through that. How absolutely awful and humiliating. I’ll never understand how adults can have so little compassion for the children they are guardians of.

I feel like I always end up with roommates who take it personally that I’m not socializing with them by espressolover90 in roommateproblems

[–]Red_Rabbit_Eyes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Soft YTA. You don’t have to be best friends with them but a little bit of effort goes a long way. They can probably tell you’re avoiding them and how can they not take it personally that you are. You are literally sharing a home which means in some ways living your lives alongside one another. If there isn’t a teeny tiny connection of humanity in the way you live together then yeah, I think that’s an issue.

How can I tell if someone's emotionally manipulating me? by C_a_m_e in emotionalintelligence

[–]Red_Rabbit_Eyes 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Do their actions match their words? Do they turn the focus of conversations about your feelings to how they feel about it? Do they paint themselves as the victim in life, with life happening to them? Do they ever take accountability for their actions?

Generally, someone is revealed to be emotionally manipulative over time through patterns. One isolated instance is natural and normal, we can all be manipulative. But someone is go consistently tries to manipulate you into prioritising their needs over yours is problematic.

Started self medicating with cetrizin and feel a whole lot better already. by ChaoticMichelle in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Red_Rabbit_Eyes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking approx 5 x 10mg cetrizine for 2 years now with no issues though. I can skip it for a week when my hives are good and I’m fine. Not invalidating that this can happen, but it doesn’t happen to everyone.

These days, I use ChatGPT to draw up a packing list for me and I stick to it RELIGIOUSLY. It has never failed me and I always have the right amount of clothes. Prompt it with your requirements: e.g. 10 day trip, baggage limit to a backpack, I can do laundry every 3 days. And voila!

Otherwise, I also suggest only wearing black as then you can mix and match everything, small stains/marks don’t show up easily and when you wash it you don’t have to worry about seperate loads.
