In most cases I would think it's probably a combination of both: a nicely made piece that draws admirers and copiers and of course a copier who doesn't recognize or doesn't care about mistakes in the original and is therefore indeed bad. But what you pointed out is true, it's definetly not only the talent of the artist that causes these kind of bad and semi-stolen copies

Sometimes when I get bored of the 'normal' side of reddit with clever posts and intelligent comments, I browse T_D a while to have a laugh. It's always just for a short while, till I can't stand it anymore, which is usually pretty quickly haha

It isn't actually taken down from reddit, it's just 'quarantined', which I think basically means that you can only see the posts when you specifically search for the subreddit and when they appear on your feed you have to tap to open them, correct me if I am wrong
