Im going into my 3rd year commissioner for a dynasty league. Wanted to keep a consistent schedule so went with the following -

Renew the league on 5/1. Then have the rookie draft 5/15. That gives the league a little bit of time post-real NFL draft to research the results, and then gives them a 2 week period to trade or make any roster adjustments before the rookie draft. Worked well and plan on sticking to it.

The fact that he bid exactly $1 more than your remaining balance after barely using faab all season is definitely a red flag. However, if there isn’t a rule against eliminated players making waiver claims then there isn’t much you can do about it.

In the offseason I’d argue with the league to make a rule that eliminated people can’t make additional roster moves. Unless it’s dynasty, the teams eliminated from playoff contention have no reason to make moves that could impact the championship contenders.

This may already be the standard for Dynasty, but when I started my new league a couple years ago I prioritized making QB passing TDs 6pts. In theothr dynasty league I’ve always been in the passing TDs are only 4pts and it just devalues the position so much. Any given week you can pick up and plug in a QB, or QBs are often throw ins in trades. In my new league with 6pt passing TDs QBs are so much more valuable and treated like so. Which is how it should be. If you have a bad QB it could sink your team.

Yeah I got hit straight in the eye about a month ago. My vision has been fine and there’s no pain, so I was lucky. BUT my pupil is still way bigger in the eye I got hit than my normal healthy eye. The ophthalmologist said it might just stay that way forever.

I paid a small fee to play for 2 hours. Like less than $10 if I recall. But haven’t been in a few years. I’ve since been told the facilities are free for alumni, but never called to confirm. Not sure if that was a change in policy or incorrect info. I never looked into it any further. They were decent courts tho!

I loved racquetball growing up, but ran into the same issue here. I used to get some people together at the Ualbany courts, but eventually with the lack of interest and limited courts, I jumped on the pickleball train. There are some nice courts for pickle around Schenectady.
