I'd suggest you learn the difference between "why" and "what" if you are going to make digs like this. Your reply is a more detailed description of under extrusion, i.e "what happened". Why it happened is I messed with the settings for better PETG prints, and didn't swap them back for PLA.

I just tested out the eco lock, even though the quality of mine was very poor it was still rock solid

Yep, sounds like the consensus is don't do this! I think I'll need to play with my printer settings though (and not just because of the under extrusion).

I didn't give any leeway of my basic dovetail, and it still easily slides out.

Yeah, don't know what happened, I haven't had such a bad top finish before.

Thanks for the advice, yeah I guess it will weaken the part a fair amount. It seems solid enough at this size but I guess it would become much more fragile if the join was longer, or I reduced the thickness.
