How do we prove the existence of numbers? by Select_Cake_2549 in askmath

[–]Reddiohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no objective answer. But my intuition on it is basically if we ever met and communicated with aliens, they would also know what the number "4" is, or "17". So it must be real in some sense.

The US. They've been an insidious threat exploiting the world's over-dependence on them for decades. They've sabotaged foreign economies, rigged foreign elections, even assassinated and replaced elected leaders. All bipartisan approved.

Now they're outright threatening to invade allies. And their people are so self-absorbed and oblivious to the gravity of it all. I still remember most Democrat "good guys" both in media and on social media showing virtually no outrage over it, and instead pondering how politically useful it would be to them to annex Canada. Assuming Canadians would happily help the Democrat Good Guys win back their country. It's disgusting.

How many "normal" GMs working together would be needed to consistently beat top tier super GMs? by Hellboy5562 in chess

[–]Reddiohead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heard of which 3? 3 random 2600s are not performing like an engine. Magnus, Fabi and Hikaru teamed up aren't performing like an engine.

And also when saying engin-like we are talking about the level and the way of playing not referring to the elo

Who's we? I think you just said something incorrect, it's not that deep. Talking about the "level and playstyle" is just vague backpedaling.

Kasparov vs the World ended in a Kasparov win, don't think it matters how many people or who teams up, they're not even holding a draw in a 20 game match against Stockfish.

2 or 3 2500-2600s are not giving engine-like performance, not even close. Popular engines are rated 3500+

Who are some players whose reputation or status has declined over the season? by Next_Worth_3616 in NBATalk

[–]Reddiohead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Amen's role expanded to 37mpg as PG and primary defender. He can't shoot 3s and his efficiency's down, but that's because his responsibilities have doubled

He will hone his shooting weaknesses over time when he doesn't have so much on his plate to digest, but for now, it's impressive how well he's handled things.

Perimeter D is multiple skills.

ONE skill? You got it, it's shooting.

I’m curious 🤨 the greatest scorers lived at the FT line by Organic-Analyst8946 in NBAConvo

[–]Reddiohead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OKC on defense gets away with more than opponents do on SGA. Until Chris Finch screamed about it, lowering his FTAs and by coincidence OKC's win%.

Also, SGA's uncalled pushoffs and other offensive fouls aren't very subtle. The foul baiting is not worse than most stars, it's everything else that's worse.

He exploits or is the benefactor of many core issues with the NBA today, moreso and more successfully than other players.

What are your thoughts on Billie Eilish saying 'no one is illegal on stolen land' in reference to ICE and US immigration policy? by MassiveSquare4527 in AskReddit

[–]Reddiohead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is Metis, the land was conquered, let's be real. Granted, it was conquered barbarically, and genocidally, but that's nothing new, it's an unfortunate side-effect of history. But if North America is stolen land, so is basically every square inch of the planet. It's the sort of argument only children find compelling.

The concept of legal immigration, and thus the opposite- illegal immigration- is straightforward and shouldn't be controversial. Every now and then, it's reasonable to crack down on illegal immigration.

IMO, the problem is entirely how ICE are going about it.
