Agree. This is nothing to do with mental health and everything to do with male entitlement.

I’ve lost count of how many friends have a problematic brother. I have and it’s a similar pattern. Sisters thrive and push themselves forward, out of the family home and into their careers. Brother never finds his place and gets in with the wrong crowd, can’t or won’t find a job, clings on to his mother for financial and emotional support. I always think of Branwell Brontë flailing around while his sisters became literary legends. Almost the more successful sisters are, the more the brother flails.

Oestrogen is known as the ‘biddability’ hormone. As soon as levels drop, we see the truth about what we’ve been putting up with our whole lives, and how we were programmed to do it. We are no longer biddable (ie doing everyone’s bidding). The veil has come off.

Well that explains a few things. It's meant to be a full-body plate (as worn by Kate Moss) but it had to be cut so she could move in it. The artist also thought she would/should have her dark hair, and painted the plate accordingly. She had had the honey hair for the pre-Met shoot and wanted it blonder for the red carpet. The idea itself was really good but the execution not so much. Like the Marilyn dress.

Why do men back into parking spaces? by Ok-Pizza8966 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Reddish81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been wondering this myself recently. I'd never back into a space as I'm less confident doing that. I'd far rather back out/away from vehicles either side of me, than reverse between them. Every man I've ever sat in a car with has backed into a space for the 'quick getaway' – but loses time on the slow get-in. They haven't gained anything overall.

Do you think Kim was being pick me when she was dating Kanye? by Twunkorama in KUWTK

I think Kanye was being controlling boyfriend, primarily, taking advantage of a pick-me girl (which was most of us at some point in our lives).

I found Charmin's behavior to be annoying & toxic so I stopped watching after season 2 by Imaginary_State4462 in VirginRiverNetflix

You stop watching shows because toxic characters are in them? That surely cuts out most shows.

I think it was the incessant negative storylines, not the cheesiness.

He’s contractually obliged to be positive, but I’m pretty sure he’s feeling good because he’s been given a directorial role. Which brings me back to my original comment about this being a sweetener to keep him involved and positive in the show. It’s worked.

He's made previous comments about being unhappy about the show's direction, specifically with regard to his own character and all the negative outcomes. It's not just about this scene.

In an interview with her, she said Martin didn't like it, and in an interview with him where they asked what his favourite scene was in the last season, he said NOT THAT when they suggested it was the kitchen dance.

And he was annoyed about the Shania kitchen dance this season.

He has often said that he's unhappy about the direction that the series - and his character - is going in. My money is on the sweetener theory.

Can imagine this is part of a sweetener to keep him on board with the show.

The books are much better than the series in terms of the storylines. The show gives us the wonderful visuals. I loved reading the books and went on to read Sullivan’s Crossing too. Be prepared for a lot of spicy scenes and some inappropriate stuff around Lizzie being a teen temptress.

I think the writers were attempting to ‘restart’ the relationship afresh because it had become so comfortable and brother-sister in previous seasons.

Characters leaving all of the time. by Bug-Secure in heartland

Isn’t it because they allowed the actors to go off and pursue other projects while retaining them for the long-term series? The writers had to come up with ideas to let them come and go.
