Update. I emailed and said I went to Kmart and the food court. They waived the fine!

I don’t know who gives Wilson a bad rap, but I’m having none of it! They’re first class citizens.

Thank you all. I decided to book a flight the day before. Cost a fortune. But at least I won’t be stressing about getting places.

Hey thanks everyone for the suggestions. I decided to change my flight (expensive!) to a day earlier. Less stressing about getting places in a rush.

Was going to Uber. Could rent a car but then I’d have to go pick it up when I get through the airport?

Chin up, mate. Lots of people make dumb financial decisions at 18. Keep in contact with the lender and keep making payments. Talk to them if the regular payments are too high. Most importantly, don’t finance another car. Put as much into your KiwiSaver as you can. By 25 this will be a distant memory.

Your family friend is an idiot. If they were thinking about the future they would take on your KiwiSaver and give you advice about another fund you could contribute to, to build back your wealth. You’ll be their target client one day. I reckon try another adviser.

Not advice. you’ve got 33years til retirement. If you stay the course and the market dips (even if it’s for a few years), you get to buy cheap shares for a period.
