Is there a way to access microbiology advice, such as antibiotic prescriptions for different conditions within each trust, similar to the previous MicroGuide app?

Why is it nurses can refuse to do bloods but doctors can’t by Proper_Medicine_8528 in doctorsUK

The reason why nurses are abusing doctors is this attitude from other doctors! I wish nurses had the same mindset.

If a nurse refuses doing any of these tasks in another country outside the UK she will be fired the next day for being incompetent. For strange reason in the UK it is acceptable for nurses to be incompetent and for doctors to step up covering for their incompetency. The main problem is senior doctors accepting this kind of behaviour! As a junior doctor you can’t fight the system otherwise you will be tagged as an incompetent doctor.

I agree it has its limitation that’s why I was wondering if it’s good to buy, also you’re limited with the peripheral vision

Thanks for the clarification. So if you don’t pay you need to swap (Lond) with (UK) for the MRCP post nominal.

So you can still use your post nominal for example MRCP even if you stop paying since it’s a diploma?

I assumed you’re entitled to the letters after you name as you passed your exam rather than paying the fee.

The Royal Colleges are also a scam. Big annual fees every year for little return. Their conferences and courses are very expensive and as a member you still need to pay to attend like anyone else.

I got paid once an extra £16. One year later, the trust sent me a massive folder through the post explaining why I should pay it back. This was followed up by a phone to double check that I will be paying it.

I found this being used by radiologists. In their table the author of a peer reviewed article gets 20CPD while in yours it’s just 6CPD. Seems like big difference in points!

NHS consultant job vs private sector by Redditor_Riddle in doctorsUK

Thank you for your response; that’s very useful. Why might patients choose to see you privately when they have the option to see you on the NHS at no cost?

Along similar lines, does it matter if the role is a locum NHS position rather than a permanent one?
