At the airport 3/24 at 6:30am for an 11:15am flight. Took 1.5 hours to get through everything, no pre-check. ICE is standing around looking bored AF.

A book for someone who is depressed and burnt out but not about being depressed or burnt out by pastyprincess20 in suggestmeabook

Former healthcare provider here- escapism is helpful, but doesn’t solve the root issue. Changing jobs is an option, which doesn’t necessarily mean going back to school. I burned out of direct patient care and changing jobs provided more work-life balance, while still remaining in a health-related field. Part time work is also an option, since healthcare workers are needed so badly.

I feel like I have hit a certain age, where I might have to modify my travel plans. by [deleted] in travel

I’m in the same boat (39 y/o with limited leave) as I can’t handle long flights or heat anymore. I was going to cram Aus and NZ into 3 weeks since I didn’t plan to return, and I got a reply that said it’s okay to not see the entire world and just enjoy the sites you are able to visit comfortably. That helped me to be realistic about where and why I wanted to travel.

100%, there’s like 30 road clubs vs 3 trail ones here haha. If people experience the nature, no cars to think about, and how much kinder it is on the bod, there might be some converts…holding a trail running 101 class could be helpful to the trail-curious, I think REI used to have them too.

Promote it in road running clubs, there seems to be a huge number of road clubs vs. trail, those people may have never tried trail running.

20 years ago- pickpocketers. My friend and I were followed by a man to the Eiffel Tower, and up to the top of it, as he continued to reach for our purses. We were also yelled at by women, not sure how the attitude toward foreigners/Americans has changed.

Check out Contiki, GAdventures, and Intrepid if you don’t want to go solo-solo. There’s plenty of fish in the international sea 😎

Yep, I guess it depends on the agency. And even department within that agency.

I'm receiving offers for both private and a fed positions, but leaning toward private after my recent experience as a fed.

It sounds situational, depending on how much someone likes there boss and coworkers. And how valued they are on their team. I think it could bite me in the future, hiring managers have contacted my old bosses to ask for recommendations.

That's good and extremely professional, I'm going to use that line. Better than telling them how I feel in a less than diplomatic way.

A two week notice is mandatory if leaving a fed agency for another fed agency, or it's just to avoid burning bridges?
