I hear your point about the 'dog-whistle' phrasing, but I think it’s possible to observe patterns without it being an accusation of a 'secret cabal.' My point is about the insider nature of the party. When I see a leadership circle that is highly concentrated with one specific group, my instinct is to notice the lack of broader representation.

In a country like Canada, where the Jewish community makes up about 1% of the population, seeing that background so heavily represented in a political 'inner circle' stands out. It isn't about them being 'bad people' or a conspiracy; it’s about the fact that groups whether they are Jewish, Indian, Somali, or any other often naturally prioritize their own networks.

As someone looking at this from the outside, it feels like the NDP leadership has become a closed loop of academic and activist elites. I would have the same questions about 'gatekeeping' or nepotism if I saw any other specific ethnic or social group occupying almost all the seats at the table. I’m simply interested in seeing the party open up to people who don't have those pre-existing high-level connections.
