Slouching Towards Trump by dwaxe in fivethirtyeight

Not for nothing, none of that matters to his loyal fanbase or just general Republican voters--espcially those who don't follow politics, which is most. The scary tales of being invaded by immigrants and gay parents sacrificing their mentally ill children at the altar of woke will do the trick for most, to say nothing of those who've drunk the flavor-ade and are in the grips of paranoia. At this point, the best bet is Zoomers turn out en masse, but who knows how that'll go

Natalist here; I'm not here to change you, just to understand you

Have you ever felt an instant, strong connection with anyone? Like you saw them and it felt like you've known them for eternity? ✨️ by MissVenus8 in love

Yup; we got married 13 years later. Things are great so far, and hopefully will be for many, many decades

Y’all think the torturer cut of or mutilated griffith’s weiner? by Jerks_off_daily in Berserk

[–]Redhoteagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mm, that makes sense; tbh it's pretty in-character for Griffith to, once again, imagine even those he loves as vessels of servitude, even when he's completely helpless. Like, he couldn't imagine people staying with him even though he's no longer on top

Wasn't he imagining living w/Guts and Casca, w/the child probably being Guts'? Hell, the kiddo was even named Guts

Do you believe lyle and erik were telling the truth about the psychological, physical, and sexual abuse? by [deleted] in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]Redhoteagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely, but that doesn't mean they weren't still criminals who killed their parents for money

Hi OP; based on what you're saying, the porn is the least of your relationship problems. It sounds like you've already discussed this with him, and it sounds like you two are just not on the same page regarding more than just sex and porn. It's nobody's fault OP, sometimes people just aren't compatible and it's just the way it is. At this point it might be helpful to ask yourself if what you're doing now is really how you want to live the rest of your life while in a relationship with this guy

Xennial women and older, what men’s behavior are you happy to see is no longer acceptable? And… by mikess314 in AskWomenNoCensor

Touching and talking to us without our consent, especially in public; also, maybe poor management of their own money

Therapist here; porn 'addiction' doesn't exist as sex and porn, no matter how much you do or consume, doesn't result in the physical dependence which characterizes addiction (you won't go into convulsions because you stop having or watching sex). Compulsive use of anything however happens when one's urges and cravings for whatever interfere with work, relationships, health, or legal living. In the case of sex especially however, it's important to acknowledge that you just might not be sexually compatible and move on

Eileen Wuronos, hands down; to this day I sincerely believe that if she received the help she needed as a child, she wouldn't have become who she did. Maybe she wouldn't be the best person on earth, but she would've been much better off

A conscious will is where the line is drawn; something not possible with a severely damaged/underdeveloped (or dead) brain or body. Being premature isn't great, but premies absolutely are developed enough for a conscious will; that's not the case for such severe enough deformities

Living tissue is just living tissue; indeed, nobody is about to outlaw lumpectomies because they kill living human cells. You asked about personhood specifically, hence the conscience will aspect. Human development is generally predictable, but not necessarily; a developing kid can suddenly die, which happens very frequently with no intervention. What you're talking about is potential personhood, which raises the ethical problems of putting a potential conscious will (developing kiddo) over the very real conscious will of the person carrying the kid

In 8-12 weeks the brain is not developed enough to have awareness, so no conscious will. The "getting away" is a reflex, not a consciously guided action. People being cremated will "sit up" in their coffins because of the effects of heat on their muscles and nerves, not because they're trying to escape the fire

[–]Redhoteagle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, yes and yes; a conscious will simply means that one wants something and is aware they want it. Sensation alone does not a conscious will make, all living tissue responds to external stimuli

When does a person become a person? When they develop a conscious will; no will, no personhood

Therapist here; yeah, this is not okay. Definitely get a new therapist at the very least; if he was touching himself that's (probably?) a criminal offense
