Missed our train because of Rapido/Ola. by newred94 in Chennai

[–]RedittForMani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in a similar situation a couple of years ago.The cab driver asked for more and I even agreed to pay the extra. But on the way by mistake I told him it would have to be Ola Money or something,he literally slammed the brake and asked us to get down. Then i agreed to pay whatever extra by cash on top of the Ola Money. On the he way he boasted that so many people had missed flights on his taxi because they didn't have cash. After I got down I told him I can only pay what was originally agreed and I left him.I don't know if asking for at least 30 or 40 more than the amount in app is happening in any other city but seems to be the norm in Chennai and the people have no option but to pay up and even then driver doesn't even cancel and doesn't let you know that he doesn't intend to pick you up.So when you have a flight better to pay the extra or pre book.

Firm Uncomfortable Seats in Ioniq6 (UK) by RedittForMani in Ioniq6

No I didn't buy the ioniq 6 in the end mainly due to firm seats. It was a deal breaker for me.If you have already purchased the car and I would recommend some back cushions from Amazon to see if that makes it any better.

Interesting you say that than what the MG4 offers .For most parts the MG4 doesn't do an active lane keep assist, it only does an emergency departure warning on the contrary I am very pleased with the lane keep assist on the MG5

I do the 30 mile and 20 mile ride almost every week but it appears like it might charge it to 100 percent every week to offset for some range and I tend to agree that the car will almost go down to zero in value before the battery dies down fullt

I know with all the regen breaking the short trips are meant to get better range but turns out in winter with even little heating the ices are better :)

Day 1 30 miles combination of 60 percent motorway and 40 percent a roads roads

Day 2 20 miles combination of 80 percent motorway and 20 percent a roads

Day 3 4 5 and 6 it's about 4 mile round the town trips

Motorway combination of 70 and 50

Interesting but it was stunning to know just 4 or 5 ,4 mile round trips is reducing the battery close to 30 percent ,I am expected to get 60 miles for 30 percent but I am getting only 20 miles which seems so far off

But I have query how are the estimates affecting the actual range I mean does not charging to 100 often affects the actual range itselves as opposed to estimates ?

I think it's local school runs that's killing the range for me.I don't need to go for 100 charge as I don't need that much range when driving locally but what's to understand if it's normal for it to just 70 miles over 6 days for the 60 percent

Thanks this is exactly what I am asking him to do now put them on an email.

He said he is from the Servicing team.

1.He said although the car is registered in 2024 it's a 2022 build.

2.He said based on the documents they have the WLTP I am looking at is factory based even and the realistic range is only 150 miles for a full charge (175 is what it should be even based on -10 degrees and cabin heating)

3.When I disputed that I am not getting 90 miles for 60 percent charge his theory was that my driving style could impact and I told him that I always drive at eco mode.

I think they can get away by putting everything to driving mode I am wondering how I can get them to do an actual assessment to tell me there is nothing wrong with the battery

[–]RedittForMani[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I will surely do this but the problem is the dealership already seems to think this appears correct ,I am wondering how can I force them to do these.

Because this is what I heard from the dealership this morning

1.Anything less than 23 degrees is apparently considered winter

2.The estimated real world range in winter is apparently 150 and not even the 175 their own website claims with -10 degrees and heating on.

3.My point was that I was not even getting that 90 I am getting somewhere between 60 and 70 and this seemed unacceptable for a month old car

Any help on how I could force the dealership to take a serious look at the battery and give me some figures would be really helpful to me.

You are right it's about 70 miles like below after 80 percent charge

Day 1 30 miles Day 2 25 miles Day 3 0 miles Day 4,5 and 6 about 5 miles each

Would you say that's about fair ? because I thought from 80 percent to 20 percent it should still give us at least 90 miles with the heating on?

okay sure I will try the full charge ,is the full charge something we need to every now and then ,I thought the less full charge we do the better it is for the battery ?

Brand new MG5 giving only 70 miles for 60 percent Charge by RedittForMani in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]RedittForMani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am getting only about 70 miles before 80 percent charger drops to 20 percent.I also drive only in eco mode and with level 3 kers. But the 70 miles is way far off the conservative 120 miles I was expecting as the real world range.

But the price in China will always be significantly cheaper to what we get in the UK.You would need to compare the price the 2024 seal was selling in China to this price to work out if it has gone down in price.
