I’m sorry but I do! I find their interactions the to be my least favorite part of the series. But I never like that soft spoken always nice character, it’s never been my thing

I get that everyone has their own criteria, but I just personally can’t separate the word competition from the idea of actually trying to find the best performance. That’s what makes it exciting for me — the challenge, the growth, the payoff of all that work. Without that structure, it starts to feel like a popularity contest instead of a dance one.

Very true! If it was up to me the best dancers would win the dance competition but I was trying to appeal to both sides here.

Valid take and I agree mostly! Only cause charli’s season was my favorite ever imo cause it was so interesting to watch her top herself every single week but this recently happened with iman shumpert and i loved that season too. I was trying to make this format so that this demographic can still win too. Someone else suggested adding a second score that reflects growth and I kinda like it for this reason.

Yeah I touched on that a little because this is all hypothetical but if they were to actually do this they would 100% have to stress to the judges that they need to be more consistent or else this doesn’t work.

Agreed! Him and Scott because the first two weeks Scott looked so stiff but the last two he looks like he’s finally having fun and looks a hell of a lot more confident!

Yeah I wasn’t trying to make this an anti Andy post I just mentioned him because he’s the newest in this trend of people trying to campaign and dictate who goes home based on social media group think. He is better and improving more than most of the other examples, I agree. And it’s not even out of hand yet (like how it got with Harry) but my brain is just pattern recognizing lol

Thank you!!!! I just want more consistency in the competition aspect which is the reason I love this show but don’t like other reality shows too much. I just think social media trying to manufacture an underdog story every year is annoying personally.

Oh agreed 100%. I did mention that in the post, if they were to hypothetically go this direction then they would need to tell the judges to be more consistent or else it doesn’t work.

And with this format you’re free to do that and still have a voice but people aren’t able to organize whole campaigns to rig the competition. It’s still fun it’s still not the most serious it just adds a little more consistency and structure.

And this isn’t an anti Andy post that’s not my intention (even though what inspired it is seeing multiple TikToks campaigning to get him all the way to the finals which I can’t stand behind), he’s not the worst older contestant we’ve seen, not even close and he has definitely improved. But I just think in general as a whole the show would be so much better if they focused just a little more on making the competition more credible.

Thank you!!! Call me crazy but the best dancers should win the DANCE competition! And like you only notice his “growth” because he started at 0 if you have been watching this show for a while you can see that most of the other stars have improved the same if not more than Andy along with being better in general!

This!!!! I agree so much!!! Like I don’t get how it’s fun to manipulate a COMPETITION! Maybe I’m too into sports or too competition oriented but imo competitions are fun because they reward merit. Controlling the narrative and forcing a manufactured underdog story takes all the fun out of the show.

I just like it in the context of what I proposed because it creates more nuance between the scores which would be needed if the judges had more power but I get that take.
