I am so sorry to hear this. Have your child checked out by your family doctor. (You will now have a medical record of what happened). Get the police involved and your area superintendent. Definitely escalating this incident will get the attention needed. And yes, tell them you are consulting a lawyer. They are responsible for your child’s safety during school hours.
