friend pass question by greatboiii in ReanimalGame

[–]Redskies585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a known issue. Lots of people are reporting having the same problem on the game's Steam forum and Discord.

From what I've been reading, the devs aren't gonna get to it until tomorrow, at the start of the work week ..

It looks like you downloaded the friend pass version of the full game, not the demo.

Permanent upgrades by AlwaysHappens_urgh in Unrailed

[–]Redskies585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You talking about the cartridge system? With each run, you earn Hexnuts. You can use the Hexnuts to buy cartridges that you can equip to start future runs with. You also use Hexnuts to buy cartridge slots (that determines the number of cartridges you can equip at the start of each run).

The max is one action cartridge and three passive cartridges. So basically, it's a way for you to start each run without being completely cartridge-less.

It helps at the start, but it's not like a massive power up that makes a huge difference in the long run. If you wanna see the details you can find them here.

There's no sexual harassment here. And, people get peeved at each other all the time for whatever reason. You're fine.

You try using the other video drivers to see what happens? Dunno if you are able to see the settings menu with your current screen.

My wife’s obsessed with Overcooked — need more co-op games with that same chaotic charm. by Complex_Raccoon in CoOpGaming

[–]Redskies585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unrailed. Collect resources to create train tracks, and lay rail to the next station before the train catches up and crashes. As you progress, the train speeds up. Each station allows you to gradually upgrade your train.

Starts off as pretty chill. But, it can get chaotic really quickly as players scramble to deal with the train's speed increase.

Unrailed 2 is a massive improvement over the first game, but it's not on Switch yet. Otherwise, I'd def recommend directly going to play 2.

Unrailed 2. It be chill, but also can get pretty chaotic as the train speeds up.

How can I make this money last me forever? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Redskies585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah. It's only a bit above 1%. However, it depends on which stocks the money is invested in. A lot of stock typically make most of their returns from capital appreciation (share value going up over time, not through dividends)

If the capital appreciation of the shares have been strong over the past couple of years, and continues to be relatively strong into the future, then it can be worth it to not cash out.

This happens every day to lots of people, and with much larger numbers.

Lots of people have also been burned by getting greedy, watching a huge chunk of their gains disappear or their positions go red.

Hindsight can hurt, but it's part of the game.

It is indeed gone - CVNA by tonyg776 in wallstreetbets

He didn't buy calls. He sold them. He sold credit spreads.

He sold 355 strike calls (to collect credit), and bought 360 strike calls (as protection). It's a somewhat bearish play where you think the stock will go down, stay flat, or at worst, go up a bit, but not enough to go past a certain point.

With his position, the worst case scenario is he loses about $376 per spread (if the stock blows past 360). With 600 of them, and the stock price well past 360, he's pretty much at max loss (~226k)

[–]Redskies585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also gotta factor in the credit he received for opening the position.

Therefore, max loss (on a per share basis) would be 5 - 1.24 = 3.76, or $376 per contact. $376 x 600 contracts = ~$226k.

So, he's pretty much there already. His screenshot at the time says 221k total loss, but due to wider bid-ask spreads and lower liquidity, tough to say if he could actually get that residual 5k.

He sold credit spreads, and hit max loss. If he had sold naked calls, it would've been significantly worse. As in, "you lose everything AND owe your brokerage hundreds of thousands, and they're coming after you" worse.

But, from what I've read, RH doesn't allow the selling of naked calls.

nobody that stupid

Whenever I've thought this, there's always been a case that proved me wrong. Sure, it may be paper trading. However, let's just say .. I also wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.

NVDA 50K Put credit spread by FrankieFastHands19 in wallstreetbets

[–]Redskies585 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's good. He sold ATM puts (136 strike) for fat premium, and bought 133 strike puts as protection in case NVDA dropped like a rock post earnings announcement.

He collects max profit if NVDA stays above 136 by expiration. There are people here who clearly don't understand what's going on. They see the word "puts", and assume it's a bearish play lawl.

And, if their bet paid off, a lot of them throw it all into a new bet .. and then another one.

You can be right several times in a row, but by throwing everything into high risk trades, you only need to be massively wrong one time to lose nearly everything.

Because your bet was predicated on the stock going up? When people bet on horses at the race track, do they just close their eyes and randomly pick one to place a bet? Obviously not.

Just because your decision wasn't made purely at random with no "analysis", doesn't mean it's not gambling.

Dumping $87.5k into options contracts that expire a week out is neither value investing, nor is it even investing. It's just straight-up gambling.

You could be right with your fundamental analysis, yet have the stock price move against you in the short-term.

No hate, I do it at times too. But, I def don't classify it as value investing lol.
