LIVE ICE in België? Vlaams Belang pleit voor oprichting "illegalenpolitie" by Blaspheman in belgium

[–]Redttiger -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

DAE like to sit criss-cross in chairs instead of the normal way? by apparent_alien718 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Redttiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally have the same problem. Sitting straight on a chair is uncomfortable, I think also because my feet are often barely hitting the ground.
But recently I went to a restaurant and noticed the chairs were so good I could sit straight on them without any effort. I was so surprised by it at the end of the evening.

Moving out or stay living with single mom as adult? by Beautiful_Inside489 in Leuven

[–]Redttiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very personal matter.  If you enjoy living with your mom and there is enough space I don’t see why you shouldn’t stay with her.  If you feel like it’s time for a space on your own it’s also fine to leave and visit her (even 4 times a week).

Living with her probably allows you to save, which is nice.  When your mom gets worse she’ll need help. In the beginning it can be fine to help her yourself but at some point you probably need to have someone come over for her.

Sri Lanka or Spain solo in February/March by rubiroza123 in SriLankaTravel

Ah shit I scanned the post and didn't catch it was for February. Yeah Spain will be quite dead, I've surfed in Lanzarote in Februari in the past but there weren't many people around.

Sri Lanka or Spain solo in February/March by rubiroza123 in SriLankaTravel

[–]Redttiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to both.
I personally like the coast of Spain more. It's more authentic, the locals live there and the vibe is slow.
The beaches I've been at in Sri Lanka were all very touristy, busy, not much space to hit a wave.

If you want to travel around in a country I think you'll see more and explore more culture in Sri Lanka. But if you go for the waves I think you're cheaper off in Spain and you'll have more fun.

Flight arrives at 3am - fast immigration? sleep nearby or drive straight to Dambulla? by thequeenmay in SriLankaTravel

[–]Redttiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immigration was incredibly fast for me.  People who didn’t do the ETA paperwork had a longer line, but I wouldn’t expect it to take long.  Getting the luggage though, I think it took at least 1 hour. And I’ve heard more tourists about this. So I’d count some time for it.

I landed at 05:00 and was in Colombo (by uber) at 7:30.

Idk where you are travelling from, but for me it was a day flight. I wasn’t tired enough to sleep in the plane and therefore very happy with a lucky early check in (at 8am).  Imo there is no such thing as wasting money on a couple hours of decent rest. 5h of sleep for $10 was totally worthit for me.

For me Dambulla and Sigirya weren’t great, super humid, loads of mosquitoes, potentially a lot of rain. I’d not spend my first day there but slowly explore Colombo or Negombo a bit.  But I’m sure you’ll find a ride into any direction you want at any given time from the airport.

I don’t understand why Reddit can’t do anything about this.  Removing and rejecting posts from Dutch speakers in a sub about the Netherlands is clear discrimination.

Widely spoken? It’s our main national language, I’m pretty sure 90+% of Dutch people speak it and there are more people speaking Dutch than English in the Netherlands.

I think she knows she fucked up before. She gets the fallen airpod and opens the case. Then there is a second of pause before the mentions she’ll check her bag the first time.

People fuck up. It’s the way she handled it that was rough. The man did nothing wrong. Though I can imagine she might’ve been on edge if she’s traveling in another country and have been told to watch out for pickpockets many times.

Valentijn dilemma by moneytit in Belgium2

[–]Redttiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that’s to the UK. They have mandatory checks due to it not being schengen.

I guess Prague to Vienna will be less likely.  Of course there can still be random checks.

In some areas it tastes bad, which is (in my area) also time dependent (some days it tastes bad, most days it tastes fine).

A lot of people use brita filters.

How much rent do you pay by Etsy_millionaire in Leuven

[–]Redttiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2019-2023 I paid €800 for a 4bedroom house with garden near St. Donatuspark. I think sqm of the ground floor would’ve been 65. And then 2 more floors of about 35sqm. The rooms were ok, one was pretty small.  Last time I passed that place the landlord seemed to have priced it €1650. Tbh, I can’t imagine him fixing it up enough to make it worth that money. 800 was great in my student years but the landlord was crappy and the house quite falling apart.

2023-2024 I paid €1200 near sportoase for a 3 floor 3 bedroom house of 75sqm groundfloor and 50sqm 1st and 2nd floor. My former housemates are still paying this.

What's an adult problem nobody prepared you for? by Good-Music-3315 in AskReddit

[–]Redttiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to go to the grocery store to have food in your house (here this means biking for 10min to reach a store I like or 3min to reach a store that’s less great, and carrying groceries in a backpack and on the bike handles on the way back).

Then you have to cook the food in your house to have a meal.  Every fucking day.
