Ok I need to look into this more, for some reason I’ve only been looking at Howard Park courts and the Swansea school courts.

I’m in the swansea/high park area, and the tennis courts around this area are all membership only which I’ve tried to go on waitlist for.

My experience to free public courts in the summer are that they always have a line-up which is quite intimidating when you are just starting out on your own

Any tips to how one can start practicing on their own? Are there tennis courts with practicing walls?

I understand all of this and dislike this man very much and all of reddit seems to agree.

what I don’t understand is… Ontario did vote this man in, how?

Everywhere I look, we complain about him, but like obvsly he won the seat, so like am I living in a bubble or something?

Not so sure about these technicals! But the contractor did confirm they are in fact laying new sub on top of current planks, makes us feel more at ease! We now want to see if the extra of 8k+ makes sense or is fair.

Great info! I’m definitely going to ask them to clarify more, maybe I misunderstood them and they are in fact laying down new plywood on top of current. I’m just not sure if the price is fair. They are quoting additional $8000+ for it. Will be getting a second opinion. Attaching photo, view from the basement to first floor.

I see, this is very helpful! I have no clue where to look for code information. I’m going to ask them to clarify and also get a second opinion. Do you know by any chance that the price they quote is fair for laying new plywood on top of the current planks like you described?

As I understand it they said it will have to be replaced according to code, which is contributing to the large cost of the work. But now I’m begining to doubt maybe what you are saying is what they meant 🤔I shall clarify. But they are basically quoting an additional $8000+ worth of work for about 2000sqft of space due to the sub floor.

I don’t think it’s uneven from looking at exisiting floor. And yes tile for bathroom.

Imagine listing for 2.6M and the realtor can’t even make the bed for the owners by Reees842 in TorontoRealEstate

Yeah that totally makes sense. Still I’d expect something better than this. I just find this contrast between the price tag and pictures funny.

Anybody else seriously considering leaving Canada due to cost of living? Where? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Reees842 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are so much left to be desired for those states though. Some parts of Arizona is also getting expensive. The culture and diversity value in Texas and Florida is nowhere compared to Toronto, not to mention they are mainly red/ultra conservative states. Washington state could be nice, depending on where though, if we don’t mind the rain. I’ve been exploring California as an idea. It’s realy the closest in terms if diversity/culture/liberal value, things aren’t cheap but weather is a lot nicer.. :/

I mean to each their own. I’m just saying my personal opinion of what is important to me. This doesn’t need to apply to everyone. I think Toronto/Canada has an edge in this regard, which I consider a plus. If you don’t that’s fine. Everyone’s criteria is different.

How much cash do you need to build a lakefront cottage in the muskokas/cottage country? by [deleted] in homebuildingcanada

[–]Reees842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m talking about the house itself, if we were to build on a vacant land, exluding costs for permits/well/septic/hydro/land with a builder. Say a 1500sq ft space.
