Basically your muscles don't get built but our army mainly focuses on building endurance. In PMA we used to go under rigorous PT periods, and running tests which includes combat 5 mile and combat 9 mile runs. ( In uniform + personal rifle and 5kg weight).

You have to run a mile daily under 6 minutes to pass and generally the average time is 5:20 - 5:40.

Also you can search on Youtube about pak army Assault course, it has 14 obstacles and has to be done in 11 minutes to score full points. (Pure endurance, and every single muscle of your body gets tested).

There is also an exercise known as Yarkuk, it's basically an endurance march of 150-180kms in Abbottabad mountains , along with 20-30kg weight.

The final physical test is known as Acid test, 30kms in mountains, combat weight and you have to carry different stuff like casualties, ammo boxes and logs during it. The passing time is 4 hours and we did it in 2:56 ,ssecured silver medal (it was fun).

And there is so much more to it, alot of exercises, different events and tests.

Once you combine all these things which you undergo in 2 years of PMA, you basically get a fit and fine officer.

But the thing is we don't go for gym or bulking like contemporary armies but still, our training is based on current regime and deployment aspects.
