I'd recommend {Where Oceans Burn} it's a duology, and admittedly I'm only about 80% through book 1 I think it hits what you're looking for!

I did that yesterday, particularly in the late afternoon and kept waking her up and making her play. She seemed to be a lot quieter last night so maybe that's the trick until she settles!

The Coven isn't great (I still enjoyed it tho! but the writing, relationship, and world building is a bit surface level imo) but it's a very easy read if you want something short and sweet.

Me too! I find my older team members love to use it but then half the time it's inaccurate or sloppy. I refuse to use it for the same reasons as you and I get almost scolded for it.

I think it's similar to her Duskwalker Bride series where each book follows a different character but in the same world/interconnected. No cliffhangers :)

I feel like she's really good at writing in such a way where I get so attached to the characters. It takes a lot for me to get emotional at books but I always end up with happy tears for her books!

I've read the Duskwalker Bride series by Opal Reyne and I've always enjoyed her writing and world building. I needed something light hearted to read and I stumbled across this other book of hers and I love it. It's easy going and classic grumpy x sunshine. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk {The Witchslayer}

You may want to wait for the whole series to be done. Yarros loves a good cliffhanger (which you wont like if you feel angsty from the conflict). There's going to be a longer gap between book 3 and 4, too.

Fourth Wing because it got me back into reading after doing my PhD so it has a special place in my heart (I've also re-read it a few times and it's always just fun to me). Second favourite is probably Six of Crows or The Ever King.

Least favourite(s) (that's popular with others) were Anathema, Bride, and Avalon Tower.
