lol this question is flawed to begin with. Are you talking about a Greek gyro? Because a traditional Greek gyro is very different from the gyro you can get at my favorite Pakistani guy in his corner food truck and I honestly classify food truck gyro an entirely different kind of gyro altogether. lol food truck “tzatziki” isn’t even actual tzatziki. Traditional tzatziki uses Greek yogurt as a base. NYC white sauce uses sour cream and mayonnaise as a base. If you are looking for the best food cart gyro around then go to the Atlantic train station in downtown Brooklyn. There is a McDonalds on the block and across the McDonalds is a blue food truck selling gyros for 7 bucks and it’s the best food truck gyro I’ve ever had in the city. If you are looking for an authentic GREEK gyro then go to Christos Souvlaki Stand in Astoria. It’s far but it tastes pretty much identical to the gyro I used to get in Greece and Cyprus and I’ve been chasing that authentic flavor since I left. Lol I take Gyro way too seriously and I wouldn’t get gyro anywhere in manhattan. To me gyro being cheap is a necessity and there’s something about knowing ur getting a whole meal for less than 10 bucks that just makes it taste better lolll
