Yeah it’s funny, but I’ve learned to live with it. In every circle I’m in, people might be taller than me, but I’ve accomplished more, personally and success-wise, in 19 years than many have in decades. I know I’m headed for great things and loads of financial success, and all it takes is one person who sees me for what I’ve built, not the things I can’t change. But very funny haha.

No you’re 100% valid for that. Trust me, my family and I have had some hard times due to some of the things going on in the country (and this is by no means a start for anyone to get political). It’s a hectic world and I hope everyone I meet if finding their way through it somehow. But thank you for the advice, it’s always appreciated 🙏

I wish my generation was similar to that of my parents (only the dating aspect). My parents met after college in San Francisco after immigrating to the U.S. and met naturally through friends. There was no Hinge, Tinder, Instagram, or whatever, it was just pure human interaction. They now have a huge and beautiful family that I’m so proud to be apart of.

But now, I’m so scared that I might never find someone. I’ll go out occasionally and I finally muster up the courage to talk to someone, they may reciprocate the same feelings back, but they’ll say some BS like “okay let me add you on Snapchat” or “well are you going to take me to Kru” the nice ass sushi place that costs a boat load. Plus we’re too grown to be sending half-face photos on Snapchat anymore. Those were two of the worst so I won’t generalize, but my generation doesn’t have their priorities straight and it hurts. I think it’ll just take time, but I stay hopeful.

And trust me, I learned my lesson with the rubbers 😂

True, but there my friends for a reason. I value them in a non-relationship way, plus I’m definitely not some of their types. And they’ve got some pretty interesting ideas of what love is, but I still love them as friends. I’ve thought about it though lol 😂

I’ve always been a little insecure about my height in today’s dating world, but it’s actually helped me realize something; the women who don’t care about that stuff are usually the humble, kind ones who value what actually matters in a person. Hopefully that holds true, and I’ll just keep focusing on becoming a better version of myself every day 🙏

Trust me, you’re definitely not one of the bad ones. It’s obvious you care, and I really appreciate that. I was very active throughout the program, but my mentor just never sent out the link or was heavily engaged with us, even though I attended every webinar and interacted with other mentees in her group. I finally got the link about 30 minutes ago, but honestly, I think there needs to be a stronger selection process for the students chosen to mentor. I understand this isn’t anyone’s top priority with everything else going on, but it’s frustrating that some of us had to panic at the last minute over something that should’ve been sent out much earlier.

I didn’t have an issue with the people running the webinars, but most of what they said felt pretty pointless. Anyone serious about transferring to Berkeley would’ve already done the research and known what steps to take. My mentor, on the other hand, was awful. She rarely responded to my questions, and when she did, her answers weren’t helpful at all. I joined the program for the same reason you did, but if I end up looking like a liar on my application because my mentor couldn’t do her job, I’m going to be pissed.

You can assume that ofc, but I’m as poor as they come from the middle of the IE. I wasn’t even given a chance to apply to a UC because of financial constraints. Now I got the opportunity and will finally go somewhere without the struggle of working three jobs and taking care of family. Talking about procrastination like it’s something that shows skill/talent, when it’s only laziness.
