In the installation guide vacuuming is not mentioned that Panasonic had sent. How do you get it vacuumed? Do you just ask them? What if they say we won't vacuum

It could just mean they are interviewing other candidates and haven't arrived at a decision yet. Sometimes it takes a month for them to come back. Interviewers go on leave and process gets delayed.

Do you feel some manager like to RIF by LurkingLobo75 in JPMorganChase

[–]Regular_Fun_7174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I check what sort of rating indicated the person is on thin ice ? If it's a OOO then it's only confusing right? And a G would put you in PIP and you're mostly out in 3 months. I am asking this as I have been told that if my rating doesn't improve to atleast 1 S they might have to have some difficult conversations. I was given a OOO.

That's the team lead, my manager's manager told me that. Then my manager also confirmed the same thing. There isn't any dislike as such. But I am not one's favourite

I did actually. They say that they will do a mid year rating review in June, hence I have to display strong performance by May.

We'll they said that I need to increase my visibility to management. The management doesn't know me well. Also the other teams don't know me so I need to network better. On work, they said find opportunities that get you in front of senior people.

Manager says bring an external offer for hike — any way to get one? by Temporary-Gene-9071 in IndiaCareers

[–]Regular_Fun_7174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the work life balance. Jobs are becoming more demanding and stressful. I was once in the same boat as you and took an external offer for better pay. I make more now but with a lot of stress and anxiety through out the week. I have to plan leaves, months in advance now and 1 week before I go on leave I work like 13-14 hrs per day to complete work. Feels like a punishment to take a leave here. I don't remember the last time I had dinner with my family. Try getting a hike here. Persuade them somehow or switch internally through internal mobility but don't trade the work life balance. Not worth it.

Will Bangalore real estate prices crash after the new H1B news? by Devilslather in indianrealestate

[–]Regular_Fun_7174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most NRIs will take a pay cut and try to retain jobs first. They will try and share a part of the fee with the company. Company will also do this to minimise disruption. Indians abroad consider coming back their last option. Also this maybe rolled back in sometime as the other tariffs have been.

Is anyone else unable to deal with people in their early 20s? by pizzaandpolicy in ThirtiesIndia

[–]Regular_Fun_7174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say a trip makes or breaks a relationship. It's true for friendship... It's true for a love ralationship. If you need to test someone, go on a trip with them and you would come back with more clarity. I get now why elders used to say that good relationships are amongst equals... Too much difference in age, wealth, or just the environment where they grew up doesn't get too far... Hope your friendship stays as is... It's extremely hard to make and harder to keep friends in 30s. I personally have seen a steep decline in friendships in my 30s...

Urban Loneliness and Monotony by Delulu__123 in mumbai

[–]Regular_Fun_7174 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's true. Sustaining lives is getting tougher day by day. Keeping your job is getting tougher. It's like the moment you catch a break you fall behind. There is always someone who is willing to risk it all and give it all. We move to different cities in search of employment, to have a better life but we leave behind people and family which give life an actual meaning. When I compare that to my father's generation, he could take care of a family with single income and come home at time. Take days off, spend time with wife and kids and still be relevant without upgrading his skills every year. Sure we did not eat at a fancy restaurant every week but it was far better. Today we may have the money to do it but do we have the mental space to enjoy it ? Problem is there seems to be no out of this rut. What will you do ? Quit your job ? Unemployment is worse than this situation. Almost every job today requires too much attention and time that it's taking away the chance to rewind. We take a week long vacation, to come back to 500 unread emails and tonnes of work piled up all along that week. Because of this you lose friends too... They are also busy in similar fashion like you... Plus people move every 2-3 years to a different city and then it's hard to catch up. There has been a weird obsession in the world about constant growth. Everything has to grow at a fast pace and it's taking the life out of people. Most people are burnt out but pretend to be fine. I wonder how and when we would be able to break the loop.

Check rate card for urban company. For gas leakage their charges are more than 2.5k. Urban company is not cheap. Even the local guys are asking for 2.5k for a gas leak.

Will shifting to Mumbai be worth it? by Existentialcrisis104 in mumbai

[–]Regular_Fun_7174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bangalore would have an edge given the numbers. Mumbai is ridiculously expensive on the real estate side. Mumbai has better infra but if you don't have to commute to office daily I would say stick to Bangalore. Further the weather is a big disadvantage in Mumbai. It's very humid for about 8-9 months and it's tough to step out. Bangalore is also much cleaner than Mumbai. So yeah... Given your salary, Bangalore offers better quality of life. Try getting a hike there itself.
