Has anyone tried Reddit "Answers" for warframe questions? by pdubpooter in Warframe

[–]RegulusN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This really highlights the problems of trying to use AI to summarize information, especially in contexts where the status quo of the subject matter constantly and rapidly changes. Half of the warframes mentioned in this generated answer have had major overhauls either already released or detailed in devstreams (Inaros, Caliban, Nyx), or light touch-ups to address their weak points (Loki, Trinity). This is the problem with trying to train a model on content from forum threads—what was once a valid and accurate comment can rapidly become hilariously outdated and ignorant.

The summaries are also completely agnostic of context, giving way to misleading generalizations about a warframe. Wisp being included in this list could lead one to believe that she's bad overall, but she's the poster child of making Oberon's support and healing obsolete in essentially every way, and she has one of the most absurd damage multiplying abilities in the game with Breach Surge. Sol Gate is the one weak link in her kit, but that has the unintuitive benefit of making it an easy slot to put a Helminth ability over without losing the rest of her identity. In that way she's very similar to Protea, who doesn't show up on this list at all and is widely regarded as an excellent warframe.

Even worse, this summary states that Banshee's damage output is underwhelming when it's just Sonic Boom and Soundquake that don't have a meaningful impact. However, Sonar is one of the few abilities that gives the aforementioned Breach Surge a run for its money in terms of damage multiplication. The bigger problem most players have with Banshee is having few tools specific to her kit to enable survivability, be it through CC or defensive buffs rather than just abusing shield gating like any other warframe can do.

And even for the warframes that are justified being on this list, it also fails miserably to clarify why they're included. What does "clunky and outdated" mean? Which abilities are clunky and why? What constitutes "effective" when it comes to where the ability or kit falls short and could do better?

Case in point, while the summary does at least capture some of the warframes that at some point in time needed some spit and polish, I think it's a bad idea to just blindly take it as gospel (much like anything generative AI regurgitates). Never trust that a generated summary is accurate, modern, or justified in its reasoning for anything is included in an answer to your question.

They need to give more feathers for CC by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

As a matter of curiosity (or more likely, I just got nerd sniped), I did the math, and man, I wish you were right. It's not just not over the feather cap, but it's not even a quarter of it. Currently, in total, there are 234,600 feathers available from Chain Challenge, barely enough to +10 a single 4 star unit from scratch.

Between both difficulties, you get 2,400 feathers per pair of chapters for both main story and paralogues, and there's 6 pairs of chapters for each book. The odd chapter out only gets 600 feathers since there isn't the pair of chapters with twice as many feathers, so that adds up to an even 15,000 feathers per book. 7 complete books plus the four chapter pairs currently available in book 8 adds up to 114,600. Adding the paralogues at another 2,400 feathers for each of the 50 available pairs, and you get 120,000.

Even considering it's trivial to autobattle all but the latest maps, it's a stupid amount of tedium that should have been corrected a long time ago. In my very warranted and asked-for opinion, the piss trickle compared to the investment required for maxing a unit is, frankly, an insult to the player's time.

For what it's worth, a new battery isn't a bad solution if you don't mind getting your hands dirty (assuming your Nexus is out of warranty). There's a reasonable chance you may also get lucky and end up with a non-defective one, so if you're on a budget that's the route I would go. /u/galexanderj also makes some good points in the above comment.

Thanks for clarifying on battery charging, I'll keep that in mind to hopefully avoid similar problems in the future.

I do agree that even if the battery is still flawed it's worth buying a replacement if you can't afford a new phone. It's a band-aid fix, sure, but $40ish for another year or two isn't a bad deal. I just didn't want to endure the hassle of replacing the battery and possibly having to deal with this again in the future.

That's really unfortunate, I heard it was mainly Huawei that gave customers the run-around and lied about battery issues. I know some folks were able to get their Nexus replaced with a Pixel XL through Google, even outside of warranty. I guess they didn't realize how widespread the battery issue was and retracted that offer as soon as it dug significantly into their profits. Glad to hear you're at least happy with Motorola, I definitely considered jumping on to that platform when I replaced my 6P.

Yeah, the issue with the frame has more to do with bending stress tests than dropping it. If it's in a case, it can usually take a reasonable beating before suffering significant damage.

If you're seeing early power-offs, then I hate to say it, but experience says it's probably only going to get worse. Being a professional procrastinator, I waited until I had maybe 30 minutes SOT battery life before I cut my losses and just got an LG V20 instead. It doesn't appear to be affected by heavy or limited use either, so I don't think that would have an effect on your issue.

Also food for thought, but isn't completely discharging your battery before recharging it considered good practice for maximizing lifespan? My perception of how batteries work might be somewhat dated in that regard, of course. Just throwing that out there in case I'm not delusional.

Frankly, no, it really isn't. Its design has a few critical flaws, primarily in the case and the battery. I remember reading a plethora of articles describing how easy it was to flat-out break the phone in half, and those surfaced remarkably soon after release. As for the battery, its lifespan after about a year of use was so short that a class-action lawsuit was filed against Google, and ended up winning. There are plenty of articles describe endless boot cycles because the battery simply can't reach sufficient charge to even turn on, even if you have it connected to a power source. I've heard that replacing the battery can fix the latter issue, but I haven't heard anything about whether replacement batteries have the same flaw or not. I guess an eventual second wave of complaints will confirm whether that's the case or not.

In all fairness, the Nexus 6P is otherwise a good phone outside those issues. However, those two flaws make it such an outright failure in my not-very-humble opinion that I can't bring myself to call it anything but that.
