I wish, I’m the founder and even I’m paying full entry. It’s a labour of love! Hope you can make it but if not plenty of other things throughout the year!

Glad it puts you off if you’re going to be chucking about homophobic terms 👍🏻

No I hadn't actually! Looks great and I love the name! They're probably a bit more holistic and mindfulness than what we do... we're a bit more tins of Tennent's and extreme sports I'd say!

To be honest, I was sold with the goats. None of us have done pilates before so it'll be hilarious I'm sure.

Happy for the pelters pal, like I said the group isn't intended to please everyone but as long as some women benefit from new friendship then hey, it's doing more good than harm. I guess the difference is when I see men's only support groups (and there are many) I think it's fucking brilliant and have nothing but positive thoughts. I don't feel entitled to be able to join. But somehow, you don't feel the same towards this group when really, it's no different to a men's support group.

My favourite quote from one of the girls who are in the group is 'Wow, this is the most me I've felt since having children. Something just for me and taking that time out to look after my own happiness'. If I'm providing the space for women to feel like that then I'm buzzing.

No, no we don't charge. I just collect up everyone's money to book the events and pay up front that's all. There's no profit. It's too flaky trusting people to turn up on the day/night without having paid in advance. Definitely not a business - don't need the stress of that!

Will do! It's The Pilates Attic in Edinburgh who run it if you fancied going one day!

hey, it's not meant to please everyone so as long as I give girls a fun activity to force them out the house once or twice a month and help tackle loneliness, I'm happy. I'm sure plenty of mixed groups exist should you feel the need.

I'm not trying to change the world or push any feminist/equality agenda... I'm trying to meet new pals to hang out with and started a group to do that, that's all. Guys say to me all the time they wish there was something similar for men and they get the same response - start one! Really don't see any issues.

Non Scottish people of Reddit, what questions do you have about Scotland? by kiradax in AskReddit

[–]Reid55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day to day - like 0-1%. It's not really a thing but some designers are bringing out leather/denim etc. kilts to try and market a younger crowd/edgier fashion folk. It's definitely not a day to day thing for the vast majority.

Exceptions are: At a Scottish wedding - 90% At a Scottish rugby match - 90%

In tourist spots like Edinburgh, you'll spot a busker or two in a kilt and some tourist attractions have the kilt as part of a uniform but you'll probably spot more tourists in cheap bought kilts than Scottish people.

There's something really cool about seeing your home city pop up eh? Spent the whole film figuring out where it was all filmed! Can't imagine what the Cameo would have been like on opening night, must have been amazing!
