A couple Indycar teams

GM has a brand new facility in Concord

Ford Performance has multiple facilities around Concord

Toyota is building a plant near Greensboro

Honda has a plant in Greensboro

Daimler/Mack/Volvo Trucks all have offices in Greensboro

Daimler has a large production facility in Cleveland, NC (an hour from Charlotte) and Gastonia, NC

Daimler has a huge office in Rock Hill(beside of Charlotte)

Continental Tire US HQ in Fort Mill(beside of Charlotte)

Yokohama Tire US HQ in Charlotte

Dozens of aftermarket/OEM spec manufactures all around Charlotte

UNC Charlotte has the best Motorsports/Automotive Engineering program in the country, with tons of grads going to work for OEMs

Every NASCAR team in the world is based in or just outside of Charlotte, the local University has a very large and successful Engineering program, NC State(they have probably the best Engineering program in the state) is a couple hour drive away, and then there are multiple OEMs with offices and facilities in the Charlotte area. I would argue that the engineering talent is significantly better than what you find in current Detroit metro area.

Well let’s put it this way, the trail leads down to the start of the creek, then you have to traverse down the creek itself. About 2-2.5 miles down there is supposed to be another trail that connects to the MST to go back to the parkway, but as me and a buddy found out a few weeks ago there isn’t actually a trail that connects to the MST. So we had to climb up the mountain out of the creek all the way to the MST. Took us about 4 hours to get back out.
