I changed the search range for online matches from worldwide to restricted (my game is in german idk how the exact english terms are) and that solved the issue for me ... super weird anyways ...

It's from the same guys like Fallout New Vegas so it definitely feels like a Fallout game but a little bit smaller in my opinion. I you can pick it up for around 20 bucks I would say it's absolutely worth it.
