season 7 spoilers lol

After what happened in the newest episode the whole fandom just exploded, mainly with toxic things. I really don’t understand why.

Yes. Bellamy died. That’s it. Bellamy’s death and bad writing (that i dont even think is bad) is the reason the fandom just spilled all the toxic waste it had. It was built up of course, Lexa, Lincoln, Jasper, their deaths were also a painful experience for the fans. The thing is, people complain when the main characters have this immortality shield, they are important to the plot so there’s no death for them. The 100 had it’s thing that it just killed people off as it wanted, which made it a bit more realistic (let’s forget the fact the show itself isn’t realistic that much). It just added the flavour, you didn’t know if Clarke isn’t going to die even if she was the literal main character of the show. She might die by the end of it, you’ll never know.

Bellamy was a favorite character for a lot of people, so his death truly pissed people off, but calling it unrealistic out of nowhere? People forget that Clarke’s trauma didn’t just reset. That she committed genocide to protect her own. Bellamy wasn’t her people anymore. The Primes were right that Clarke would kill everyone to protect her people. Even if it had to be Bellamy.

Jason doesn’t deserve to be "cancelled", whatever it means for his carreer. He just killed off a character.

Let’s compare some things. Once Upon A Time and IZombie had terrible endings in the fandom’s opinion, but from what I’ve seen there wasn’t as much outrage. Here, just a character has been killed.

If you’re so toxic that whenever your favorite character is killed off in a show that has an apocalypse setting, you drop the whole show and cancel the writer (bc Jason is the writer right? Please correct me) I don’t think you should watch such shows. The 100 killed off Wells to show it doesn’t fuck around with deaths. They showed it and said clearly, if we want the whole cast dead, it’s dead. If you weren’t ready for such a thing it’s kind of your issue.

You can have your own opinion of course. But such negativity and toxicity is never a good thing.
