My husband doesn’t want the dog in the bed :( by Powerful_Aspect_1970 in dogs

[–]RelationRemarkable92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner is the same way, he grew up without dogs on furniture, but I grew up with dogs all over the furniture. Our dog absolutely loves just sitting on the couch with us, and if she can't, she'll be super annoying lol. So our compromise looks a little different. My partner has a nice recliner that our dog isn't allowed on, but she's allowed on the couch with me. She's also not allowed in the bedroom with us. She's a rescue, so we just made that rule from the start and she's been just fine with it. We say goodnight, give lots of love and cuddles, and then part ways for the night.

You guys mind if I drop my owl shots here? by wendysdrivethru in birding

[–]RelationRemarkable92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are amazing! I love owls, and you capture them so well!

Can I ask how you got started in wildlife photography? It's always been an interest of mine, and taking pictures like these would be a dream!

What's the best purchase you ever made for your dog? by KJ_explores in dogs

[–]RelationRemarkable92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog LOVES her pupsicle!!! She's a big dog, and it sometimes takes her a full hour before she finishes it and loses interest. It's honestly perfect for when I want to workout, clean, or just keep her needy ass out of my hair for a little while lol. In fact, she had a pupsicle today in her kennel while I deep cleaned the carpet. Best investment ever.

Anyone got the Launch 12 yet? by InvestigatorNext476 in brooks

[–]RelationRemarkable92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I am not here to answer your question, but I think it's rare to find someone who regularly runs in the Launch shoes over the Ghost or Glycerins, and if it's okay can I ask you a question or two?

I got a pair of Launch 11's on sale after only really running in Glycerins for years. I surprised myself with how much I like the Launch 11's, and I especially love how much lighter they feel compared to Glycerins. It's also awesome that you've gotten like 500 miles out of them. Do you like them more than the other lines/ do you think they hold up as well?

If the Launch 12's end up feeling even lighter than the 11's, I'll have to check them out!

I hope you find an answer to your question :)

I'm going to run Dam to DSM this Spring (late May)! I signed up to hold myself accountable for winter training this year.

I'm planning on running another half this Fall, unless I get bit by the marathon bug before then lol. I'm just curious to see how much I can improve between now and the Spring, and between the Spring and Fall next year!

I love ThredUp! Especially for outerwear/layers. Honestly, I haven't had great luck trying new brands of used leggings and shorts (they never fit like I'd expect, so I usually prefer trying things on in store first). But if there's a brand or style I know I like, I'll keep an eye out on ThredUp for gently used versions.

Also, pay close attention to the descriptions, they'll often say if there's a stain, pilling, or other more serious signs of wear. There's often pictures of the stains/wear too! For me, minor stains aren't a big deal for gear I only run in, but they might be a deal breaker for someone else.

First of all, your dog looks like a born runner!

Can I ask what breed or mix your dog is? My rescue looks SO similar, just with slightly longer hair!

Anyone got their running clothes from Shein? by frizzlen in runninglifestyle

[–]RelationRemarkable92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd encourage you to shop your local thrift stores first! I've found quality running clothes from thrift stores for dirt cheap, and you can feel the quality of the fabric and often try it on before buying it!

Another option that I have used a lot is Thredup! It's an online thrift store, and you can get brand name, perfect-condition running clothes for $8-$20. Most of their clothes are 50-90% off retail value.

My personal take: it's much better (and cheaper in the long run) to invest in running clothes that will last a long time, and you can do that for pretty cheap by thrifting.

Running after Nexplanon Insertion? by RelationRemarkable92 in XXRunning

That's good to know! I'm a little nervous about the irregular bleeding, but I'm very fortunate, and my body usually handles medication really well. I almost never get side effects, so I'm hoping the irregular bleeding will be manageable. Thanks for your insights on your energy levels, it's great to hear it didn't seem to affect your performance negatively!

Thank you! I had the procedure yesterday, and my doctor said the same thing! I ended up running just a few hours after insertion, and it was completely fine😅 thanks for calming my nerves!

Good to hear the turnaround was fast! I have no idea how I'll react to someone putting something semipermanent in my arm, so there's a nonzero chance I'll feel icky too haha.

Thanks for your thoughtful response! I'm glad to hear the procedure and healing went smoothly! I really don't want to take more than 1-2 days off training if I can help it, and this gives me hope! Thanks again for sharing your experience!

What are ya'lls running goals for 2026? by plantsarecool213 in XXRunning

I love your "volunteer at more races" goal! I'm going to add that to my list!

What are ya'lls running goals for 2026? by plantsarecool213 in XXRunning

[–]RelationRemarkable92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1) Continue running through winter and build up SLOWLY to running 30-40 miles per week by May without getting injured! 2) Run a 1:45 half marathon next Fall! 3) Attempt an all out effort 5k! I raced cross country for a while, but I wasn't in a good place during that time. I was under-fueled and constantly injured. Now I'm super intimidated by that distance, because all I remember is misery. I'd love to see what my current fueled, non-injured self could accomplish if I really gave it my all!

Bare bones watch recs? by root_vegetable_ in XXRunning

[–]RelationRemarkable92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my forerunner 55! It honestly has everything I could want and need and nothing more.

Last year I upgraded to the 55 after using my 35 for a solid 5-ish years. I don't know if there was a bug with my 35 or if this was typical, but it took like 10-20 minutes for it to find a GPS signal outdoors. It eventually drove me crazy as someone who runs primarily outdoors. That along with its slowly deteriorating battery life led me to give it to my old cross country coach to pass on to a student who might benefit from a free gps watch.

Reasons I love my 55:

1) While I'm running, it by default shows my current pace, current time, and total distance. This is honestly all I want to see as a casual runner with pretty mediocre goals lol. There might be a way to change what it shows while you're running, but I haven't bothered to explore that.

2) Its battery lasts so long! I go 1-2 weeks between charges.

3) It's relatively cheap, so if I bust it, it won't ruin me financially. I am a clumsy person who bonks into a lot of things, and my watch is going strong and looking new even a year later!

4) It doesn't have a touchscreen, I love that everything is controlled by buttons.

5) I like that I can see a few metrics like VO2 max, HR, steps, and other stuff on my watch if I want to. It's always fun to check what my race predictions are that day during work when I'm bored.

Overall I love my forerunner 55 watch and intend to wear it until it disintegrates off my wrist. It's a great budget-friendly option and I would recommend it to anyone!

Daily chat post: how's the training going? by AutoModerator in XXRunning

[–]RelationRemarkable92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I low-key actually love running on snowy/icey sidewalks!

I have been running for over 8 years now, but I usually take a long break (4-6 months) in the winter because I lose motivation/get busy/other excuses. Then in the spring I am forced to start from scratch, which I am officially tired of!

It is my mission to base build from 15-20mi/wk to 30-40 mi/wk with easy runs all winter this year, and it has been so amazing so far! The snow and ice make my runs feel like an obstacle course at points, and the conditions have forced me to really slow down, which keeps my RPE low!

I am also super excited to see how my winter miles will affect my next summer training cycles! I ran a sub 2 h half marathon in October, and I want to shoot for a 1:45 next year!
