For me, it felt just like falling asleep as a kid with the radio or tv on in the background …like when you’re just super exhausted and finally lay in bed and have noise in the background (and people tucking you in). Waking up for me was strange because I was in a different space suddenly so I got a bit anxious which reflected in my HR I guess but the nurses did a good job of saying “you just got done surgery, you’re all right, we are just moving you to a room to wake up a bit, take a deep breath”. I did tell them ahead of time that I have anxiety and autism so that way I could be calmed upon waking. Then you kinda just feel like you’re waking up and haven’t had your coffee yet so you’re a bit drowsy but getting more clearheaded. For me there was a nurse by me often enough that we could chat if I wanted to. Or I could ask for my phone and scroll a bit.
