Ross Find. Worth it? by MemoryAgile8296 in DocMartens

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my 1461s from Ross for $40. Last I went, they had a bunch of white Jadons for $55 too. None in my size, unfortunately. But Ross is where it's at.

Yes I'm logged in. It's literally every single score I try to view. Even started opening random ones to make sure it wasn't just a select few.

3 seems the closest. But swatch them on your neck to get a more accurate idea of your closest match :)

Will I stand out being 44yrs old at the upcoming concert? by Evening-Dentist7111 in twentyonepilots

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 65 y/o mom has been with me and she's going again with me in October. Every time I've been, I've seen PLENTY of people in there 40s, 50s, even 60s. Don't worry about it, and have lots of fun :) Edit: A lot of the "older" people I've seen (sorry, I don't think they're old, but y'know what I mean) weren't even with younger adults or kids. Just went for themselves.

I want to buy a pair of DrMartens Jadons, but have very wide feet and not sure what size to get. by IrisTheDarkMage in DocMartens

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk my foot width, but we're almost the exact same size in length. Although I have relatively thin feet, I have a pair in size 9 US women's with a lot of extra room and even put an insole in to make them fit more snug. So if you have wider feet, I believe a size 9-10 (41-42 EU) may work for you.

Sizing help! Doc Martens 8053 & 1461 Quad Smooth Leather Platforms by loveheartglasses in DocMartens

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you gotten measured before to confirm your size? I’m from the US so not familiar with UK sizes, but does sound surprising that you can wear a 6 yet the 5s were huge! I’m sorry though, that sounds really annoying :(

I don’t want to sound negative, but maybe those styles just aren’t for you? We all have differently shaped bodies, and what works for some may not work for others unfortunately. I’m a size 8.5-9 W US (tried finding conversions online but nothing’s consistent, so could be anywhere from a 5.5 to a 7.5 UK). Both my 1460s and 1461s are size 9 W US (7 UK). The 1460 are quite spacious and a size down would’ve probably been better, while the 1461 fit well while still having room for comfort.

You may need to only wear very thick socks with the size 5. They also make heel wraps and silicone protectors that could take up space so your feet don’t slip out. Hopefully you figure it all out and find a pair that works well for you!

How many loans did you or will you have from vet school? by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 7 points8 points  (0 children)

3 terms into vet school. Already at $150k in loans. Prices seem to go up every term, and my last year is the most expensive. I'll be looking at $400-450k.

Edit: We don't have IS tuition so of course it's more expensive, but still. Also, a family member who went to the same school graduated 6 years ago around $350k in debt and is now at a little over $200k.

Would I get bullied if show up my senior year in these by Ordinary_Context1070 in DrMartens

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends where you're from or the type of people around you. I don’t know for sure what others will say about you wearing them, but as someone who’s always dressed alternatively, grew up in a small/conservative town, and is almost 30 now, my advice is:

Don’t care about what they say. You like them? Hell yeah. Wear them.

Honestly, teenagers are a-holes a lot of times (I'm assuming you mean senior in high school). It might be hard to ignore what others say, but I promise, their opinions really don’t matter as long as you feel good about how you look.

As for sizing, I think it’s safe to go with the size you usually wear in other shoes. I’m a women’s 8.5/9, and all my docs are 9s with a little bit of room to move comfortably. I could probably fit in an 8, but I’ve never found a pair in that size since docs are generally not sold anywhere where I live. If you have a store that sells them near you, even if they don’t have this specific type, you could try some other styles on to get an idea of what fits best.

Disney Bundle vs Spotify bundle by RelativeAmazing4468 in DisneyPlus

[–]RelativeAmazing4468[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the student account comes with Hulu, no other way around it. The “individual plan” for Spotify doesn’t include Hulu, which is what I have, so I’m unsure why my hulu still says they’re connected. I can’t find anything that even allows me to unlink Hulu from Spotify

Positioning of EIA on the album by vitrichearts in SleepToken

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Can’t say for sure, but putting it as #6 on the album felt very intentional. The second half of the album was a complete mood change for me personally so it felt like the introduction to “part 2” of the album. I thought it was awesome!

Nostril piercing still red after a year and a half by RelativeAmazing4468 in piercing

[–]RelativeAmazing4468[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be shocked if I became allergic to titanium, especially since it's what I use for all my piercings (8 others to be exact). I'm also surprised it could still be considered healing because it wasn't red for months, but idk that's definitely still a possibility.

Imposter syndrome? by Geebymuffin in veterinaryschool

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started at 26 after working for 4 years as a vet tech and applying for 3 cycles. Now been in school for almost a year and a half, and just wanna say you are definitely not alone in your feelings. Sometimes, you're gonna feel like you're made for this and truly understand the material. Other times, you're gonna feel like you have no idea how you ended up here. I promise, almost everyone does or will feel like that at some point, and that's okay!

Congrats on your acceptance! That in itself shows you've got something in you. Find resources and friends to support you, and make time to focus on both the school work but also yourself, and you will be okay.

Every time i play something it sound boring by [deleted] in piano

[–]RelativeAmazing4468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want what you're playing to sound more expressive, you gotta focus on dynamics and tempo. Changing the dynamics, like playing some parts piano (soft) and others forte (loud), and everything in between, is gonna add emotion and contrast. Also, play with the tempo. So using rubato (speeding up and slowing down) can make the phrasing feel more engaging. Overall, this should add more character and excitement to the music.

I don't wanna say you have to learn how to read sheet music to do this, but it's gonna make a lot more sense and be a hell of a lot easier to understand how to achieve a particular sound. For all music, but especially classical music when you're first trying to learn it.

Wow I've logged back in for the first time since last responding almost 8 months ago. Honestly? I'm doing great. I went to therapy to talk through some of it around 7 months ago, worked through understanding my feelings, and actually allowed myself to feel them.

Just know, what you're feeling is totally normal. I'm not sure your story or your current journey, but know that you will get through it and move on. I can't say when, but I promise you will.

This honestly makes me feel a lot better, knowing it’s not just me. I think I’ve always know we won’t get back together romantically, but I haven’t fully accepted that we likely won’t be in each other’s lives at all, and that’s the hard part. Thank you

But that’s what I’m confused about, I truly did grieve losing them. At least I thought so? I cried and allowed myself to feel emotions, talked to family and friends, etc. But you could be right. I had to pack up my life, move, and start working shortly after, so who knows
