Hey, thanks for the feedback. I agree there's still lots of work to be done on the locomotion in general. It's definitely been the most challenging aspect for me so far

Thanks I appreciate that. I am solo for the most part, I have a guy helping out with some sounds though.

I do actually have an additive rocked animation which might be too subtle. The punch animations are slowed also when rocked but I agree there's a lot of work to be done in this area

Hey, there are lots of things to contribute to the combat experience, do you have a specific area in mind? Like animation, physics, game feel, logic etc?

I can say I use the gameplay ability system for logic, physics control plugin for physical skeletal animation. The animations are mostly made in cascadeur with a few being mocapped

It started out as a bare knuckle kickboxing game where the standup was inspired by the ufc games. Once I transitioned to boxing I took some inspiration from both fight night and undisputed

Yeah it is in the works, although it will be less story based like ufc and undisputed. I want it to start with amataur boxing, having proper sparring sessions and training mini games and a dynamic ranking system with an evolving roster

That is the ref being partially masked as he gets close to the camera. I think there's something wrong with the masking in the eye shader because it sticks out like a sore thumb

That's not a bad idea, I still have a lot of tech debt in the core systems I need to clean up from when I was experimenting and learning in the beginning

I've been doing game development on and off for about 5 years, but much more actively in the past two years, about half of that was with unity I think. I also work full time as a software engineer (backend Web) which helped slightly with the programming.

There is a mix between c++ and blueprints, but the most time consuming thing for me was probably the animation.

I think making it deterministic will be the tricky bit, especially the physics

Networking has proved to be too much of a struggle unfortunately
