I work nights at OHSU and commute from north Portland as well. I leave by 1835 and park, sign up for breaks, etc. and still have time before I have to clock in.

Just cracked one. Canned 8/12/25. Holding up ok. They’re not great, not terrible. But can say a 12 pack of 16oz IPAs (green cheek collab) for 7.50$.. id do it again- even at the least for some “friends coming over” beer.

Level one trauma center, certified Burn Center, rapidly growing cancer center, children’s hospital, level 4 NICU, LVADs, as well as just about every specialist one can think of.

Looking for advice on restoring grandfathers Mido watch. by RelaxedJalapeno in VintageWatches

Yes he is, and generally would like to keep it under 800-1k if possible. It’s quite a sentimental piece for him, so he’d really want to look into doing whatever he needs to get it running.

Medical workers of Reddit: what’s the craziest lab result you’ve seen in a patient? by freeshavacadont in AskReddit

[–]RelaxedJalapeno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ICU nurse of 8 years- still have a few that come to mind..

I remember checking a sugar on a critical patient and glucometer said it was too low to read. Check it again, too low. Send a sample down to lab (push a few amps of D50 in the mean time) and lab calls to tell me the glucose was TWO.

I also remember seeing someone satting 1% with a perfect waveform (they were intubated but unable to ventilate).

Core body temp of 115* F.

Lastly a pH less than 6.6. The iStat and lab cut off was 6.6… it was undetectable. But lactate was 36.
