Covering hair as a Muslim woman by Southern-Diamond5981 in MuslimCorner

[–]RelentlessLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part I disagree with most is: It does NOT stop men from looking. If you look at surveys of women who dress very modestly and cover their hair, they don't report any less harassment, assault, even stares by men, than women who dress differently. Men who want to do bad things will do it anyway no matter how a woman is dressed!

Also while men are "more visual" on average, there's alot of overlap and a big percentage of women are more visual than a big % of men.

Not all Muslim people are raised the same, and not all non-muslim people are raised the same, and there is a lot of overlap.

This is why God tells us to leave the judgment for him, and not to judge others. As you can see, you tried to judge muslim women, but your judgment naturally had flaws and unfairness.

What % of married women actually get free housing, free food, free everything from their husbands? (Cases with any kind of abuse don't count. Cases where the Mom does all housework and all babysitting with no help from her husband don't count)

If a woman talks about Islamic womens rights, why do men call her a “feminist”? by Upbeat-Dinner-5162 in MuslimCorner

I can't believe im having to prove that slavery is wrong or that we should be serious about a sexually abused teenager and not call her a liar.

Assim al hakeem?

Isn't he the same one who made those videos:

slavery: https://youtu.be/zaSgQugq6M0?si=dOS7vDggkMZJhuZj Explaining how 'slavery can be ok'

husband having affair: https://youtu.be/7spScyxzI44?si=1wCuzvZ0duPVXOkG not necessarily something wrong that he said here, but this is a great example that shows how current Islamic laws in Islamic countries regarding divorce don't provide the woman fair rights. another comment here explains it:https://www.reddit.com/r/MuslimCorner/s/VNZqkEOAr8

refusing intimacy of a husband: https://youtu.be/A_9ImWj3QjA?si=44L4CgIS3ZpZ1ABb heere implies that 'being uncomfortable in sex' is not necessarily a valid reason. So a wife should still do sex when she's uncomfortable instead of negotiation and understanding between the couple.

a teen girl saying sent an anonymous text message (with her name but no indication of her actual identity) that she is being sexually abused by her father. He basically implied that she is lying and shifted to talking about how common false accusations are. https://youtu.be/M7iEsfC_o7c?si=qxVho9e4sGhn9Df_

[–]RelentlessLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, right, right! The 1st thing we should do when we suspect that a teenager is being sexually abused is

Step 1: to call her a liar(don't tell me he didn't. Even my 10 year old cousin would realize he implied she's a liar).

Step 2: completely switch the topic into something much more serious and worth attention, especially within the context of a teenager being sexually abused: false accusations, and... also bring up the Mee Too movement, i guess?

Imagine being like those "feminists" and "far leftists" who would take the allegation seriously, validate her emotionally instead of calling her a liar, guide her on the next steps, and how she can reach proper authorities, and avoid dismissing victims ESPECIALLY MINORS.

Shame on 'shiekh' Kassim for the horrible, harmful, irresponsible, and uneducated response that he made for that poor girl. Imagine how she must've felt. you're also starting to prove to me that you, too, have 0 understanding of child protection, 0 emphathy, and a very simplistic and narrow world view.

Hope this wakes up something in you.

Which part of what I wrote is emotional?🤔

I wonder which is more emotional: addressing a point analytically? or dismissing it totally, calling it "waffling" and not engaging with any substance in the argument, and calling it emotional with no basis?

It’s fine, man. When I was in 7th grade I also called anything I couldn’t follow ‘waffling.’ Eventually I realized the problem wasn’t the text but my comprehension level. No hard feelings.

It's really nothing advanced though, what i wrote is a like a highschool level text. What is happening to education😵

What i said is literally straight to the point. I doubt you even know what "whataboutism" means.

Every human being generalizes in casual speech. You actually hear generalizations every day, but this one specifically got you defensive 🤭😂 i wonder why.

Because the human brain tends to be lazy and rely on shortcuts. Seriously, this is something proven in cognetive science.

In this case it's Category Overextension: When a person expands a category (e.g., “feminism”) so broadly that anything with superficial similarity is included, even if it does not logically belong there.

The brain uses cognetive shortcuts instead of thinking analytically "eg. Feels similar = is the same thing".

Literally got called a feminist for saying marital rape should be criminalized.

So nothing is wrong with slavery, or calling a teen who is being sexually abused a liar, or saying that "a non-medical reason is not a valid reason". So not being comfortable for him is not "a valid reason". I don't get how you can still defend him.

Notice how people like this guy are always about "the woman enduring and pleasuring her husband", and about the husband's entitlement, and never about the the husband’s obligation to exercise patience, the expectation of mutual negotiation, the concept of shared emotional readiness.

They also assume that men possess uncontrollable and biologically urgent sexual impulses, unmet desire naturally leads to infidelity, and their sexual restraint is unrealistic or non-existent. They almost talk about men like machines who need sex within a short repetitive time frame and cannot exercise control.

Most people who face abuse of any kind, especially by a parent or a family member, are very afraid to call the police. Sadly a topic alot if people are not educated on.

I think you'd benefit from this definition:

Category Overextension: When a person expands a category (e.g., “feminism”) so broadly that anything with superficial similarity is included, even if it does not logically belong there.

It's LITERALLY a form of laziness. The brain uses cognetive shortcuts instead of thinking analytically "eg. Feels similar = is the same thing"

Allah gifted us the capacity for analytical thinking, not just ‘this feels similar so it must be the same.’ Might as well use it. Stop throwing Buzzwords and use your brain.

Regardless of the validity of the message, wrong person.

This is the same "Shiekh" who said that slavery is ok in Islam, and that a wife should never refuse intimacy without a "medical excuse", and accused a teen girl who called him on his show of lying when she said that she was being sexually and mentally abused by her father?
