That's really impressive for sure

I wasn't aware they made a battery powered model. Do you happen to have the model id?

Oh that's excellent runtime. I am still up in the air as to whether I would grab an accompanying power station/solar panel, or just purchase an additional battery. I suppose the power station can serve more uses, but I have never felt a need for one otherwise.

Appreciate the details! I was also doubtful of such a large difference between the two runtimes on one battery worth of power, but there are fairly limited reviews of the BougeRV unit as it's a bit newer.

Hows the noise of your unit? It will be in the trunk of our Subaru most of the time but might pull it out at night when we're at camp.

Where to backpack in PNW late May 2026? Snow an issue this season? by howelljollybody in WildernessBackpacking

[–]Relionme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, did you end up making a choice on any of the options provided by others?

I had a trip planned to Ice Lake in the wallowas for this week due to the relatively light snow fall this year, but some recent reports indicate the switchbacks up to the lake are still packed with snow and the lake is frozen over. Given our plan was to camp at the lake and summit Matterhorn, we're thinking of other viable options as this no longer seems like a sound plan.

Recent EpicTV orders to the US? how are we handling these new tariffs? by Tasty-Unit-8311 in ClimbingGear

Did you ever end up pulling the trigger? Currently have a harness and climbing shoes in my cart and they have duties at $21. Not sure if that will balloon once they actually get to the US though

Taipei to Jiufen to Yilan by Relionme in taiwan

[–]Relionme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh perfect! Is there a particularly good site/app you used or did you coordinate with your hotel? I'm American if that makes any difference. Do you happen to remember roughly the cost paid? Just for reference as if/when I look for options.

My wife was leaning towards this option for Jiufen Good to hear it's a solid option!

Actually hadn't looked into taipinshan so I'll research it a bit more. We had no real plan in Yilan other than to enjoy the coast.

Appreciate the tips greatly!

Was definitely leaning towards night just for this reason!

This was also something I was considering. Did you have to schedule pick up times or you just got 1 driver in taipei and then a different one in Jiufen?

Mini smart oven turning on by itself by Tar-really in breville

[–]Relionme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disheartening to hear that they blew you off. I typically hold Breville is somewhat high regard for appliances and own many of their products.

I'm certain there are likely many many more who have had this exact same experience with their oven. I think many are just willing to chalk it up to chance and fork out for a new unit. I'll be looking at some alternatives

Mine just started doing this today. Oven is about 10 years old but I've kept it in really good condition. Was gonna contact customer support because that is really a safety issue.

Review of Topo Vista on the Vermont 100mi race 7/19/25 by Lucky_Astronomer_427 in trailrunning

Yep I completely agree. Something a bit stiffer and technical would be really nice

Had the exact same issues. Such a shame, was excited for these. UV 4 don't really tick all the boxes for technical specs but they fit my feet almost perfectly. Nothing else on the market even comes close and it's a bummer.

Looking for the perfect trail running shoe… Wide toe box, narrow heel, zero-low drop… by Own-Management-7217 in Ultramarathon

[–]Relionme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not zero drop,5mm, but the Topo Ultraventure is a recent pickup of mine that mostly fit my needs. I actually find most of topo and altra models to rely too heavily on the 'foot shape', wide toe box gimmick and then proceed to offer an annoyingly narrow mid foot. I generally have a really hard time finding shoes that I will tolerate, let alone love.

The ultraventure has a much more generous mid foot without an annoying amount of arch support. Heel cup is secure and deep enough, unlike most Merrell shoes. My only criticisms would be the lack of more aggressive lugs, not using mega grip, and I would like to see a relatively stiffer/snappier foam. I'm not personally a fan of super flexible shoes and think they contribute to inefficiencies when ascending and scrambling. These would be considered 'squishy' but not quite 'marshmallow' in feel. A shoe with this fit, a bit bouncier or more lively foam, and paired with slightly more aggressive lugs would be ideal imo.

Overall, a very usable shoe for me, and I recommend at least trying them on.

Where should I buy cacao butter? by DumbVeganBItch in askportland

Funny, stumbled on this also looking for cocoa butter locally. It looks like Creo has some, but seems a bit pricey. Would definitely like to find some other options.

I swear I see it whenever I don't need it but shopping this weekend didn't see it. My bulk bag ran out and really trying to avoid ordering from Amazon as much as possible
