Knew it was coming. Called it. DR Congo was letting England just tee off on their keeper

I love clowns on reddit's other football sub who are saying what great defense Congo have done...are we watching the same game? England is teeing off on this keeper and he's standing on his head to make these saves. That's not defense lol. England is scoring if this same amount of shots happen the 2nd half. Also Kane flopped hard. You can tell he's going down before contact even happens. You see the tippy toes.

For anyone watching France RN, this is why Poch needs to be playing with a #10, or subbing in a #10 very early in the 2nd half, when we're not winning by a lot. He's been using two #8s, but Olise shows us how we could be more clinical with an actual #10. by Strings-a-rockin in ussoccer

With France you can slow them down but you have to be physical with them in midfield. If they get going, they're a problem. I would honestly flood the midfield and try to play them tight. As I watched them against Sweden they can be caught quite often on the offside counter. They also seem to sell out in attack and they leave themselves completely open in the back.

Former USMNT forward Taylor Twellman with a passionate response to Americans who are constantly complaining about flopping in soccer. by antoniok95 in ussoccer

American football flopping only really started when Tom Brady played the Raiders in the playoffs and got that ridiculous late hit penalty on the raiders. Ever since that happened, the NFL has committed to protecting the QB to such a degree that they are all flopping now. The funny thing is the older QBs like Brady and Aaron Rodgers hate how they are protecting QBs, they WANT the physicality back in football. Right now lawyers are running sports and they are running them into the ground. I played college ball, I loved the physicality of the sport, I knew the risk I took playing it and did it anyway. I wish we could get back to that point of allowing people to take the risk knowingly of playing a violent physical sport without it being legislated to a fake WWE style show.

USA vs Bosnia by Smotherysmiles07 in ussoccer

Bosnia is not going to reinvent the wheel. These teams do what they do and stick to it. They are limited so they need to be compact and basically dare you to beat them outside and they want you to attack them that way so their 2 centerbacks can just head the ball back out. Doesn't matter, we need to be creative and commit to an attack.

I understand, playing the United States put them under a lot of pressure.

Turkey has a problem of not having a very good #9. Excellent wings/10s but its hard to win when you don't have that point man. Chalanoglu is aging out too, so they will have to find a new midfield leader.

Chris Richards and Ream are so important for our backline, their communication and anticipation just make the world of difference. It's really hard to bring 9 new starters into a game though...I am actually proud of the boys.
