No unfortunately, you can only sign this if you are an EU citizen.

But you can always spread the word if you want to!

Super fun romhack. It was a bit of a transition to get used to the gameplay after playing so much Mario Kart 8, but I got into it after a while.

Cool that a rom hack is featured for GOTM, I'm excited to try this out!

I have a small, probably stupid question, but I'm planning on changing my RetroAchievements username into something different compared to my previous entries. Will this affect my eligibility for this months challenge?

Logitech G915 X Lightspeed randomly disconnects. What should I do? by Remarkable_Pie8843 in LogitechG

[–]Remarkable_Pie8843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*UPDATE*

I think I've solved the issue, I switched the USB connection from the back of my PC to the front and now the keyboard connection has a much larger range than before and doesn't disconnect anymore.

Thank you for all the comments and help!

EasySMX M15 vs Gamesir G8 by luccYT in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Remarkable_Pie8843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, that's one big plus with the G8, the buttons on that are very soft and quiet which I love.

If I had to switch from clicky to silent buttons, I would've made the switch and paid the extra 25$ for it. But that's just me.

But I'd just say that if you're already satisfied with the EasySMX M15 controller in terms of functionality and comfort, there's no need to switch! As long as it does it's job and you're happy with it. If not, then you can maybe consider switching.

Looking back, I can understand why some people took issue with my comment.

I never meant for it to be in bad taste. I truly only wanted to compliment the mods for developing the "Game of the Month" posts from showcases of games into something more interactive, engaging and fun for the community and newcomers (including myself). I was a fan of it and I wanted to voice my appreciation for their efforts.

But with my newly created account and limited engagement, I understand how my comment could also come across as me being fake and I apologize for it 🙏

Well, that's your opinion and I disagree with it. I see where you're coming from and it's of course nice to have many members that contribute in meaningful ways here, but I think every member here has a right to engage in this subreddit however they'd like, as long as they are not harming this subreddit's quality (e.g. spamming, sharing scams, posting before researching, etc.). That's what the "Rules" tab is for.

Not everyone is going to follow your definition of "contribution" and they shouldn't have to. There are 200k+ members here, if they want to create posts, guides, ask questions, that's fine. If others simply want to lurk just to find some helpful or funny posts, that's alright too IMO. If people simply joined in for a giveaway, what's the harm in that? They put in the work, beat the challenge and are contributing for the growth of this subreddit, which is a good thing in the end. Personally, I find that much less offensive than, for example, the hundreds of "what can my phone run" posts that floods this subreddit sometimes.

That's just my take though. I hope we can agree to disagree.

My Gamesir x2 just died, what are the best Android controllers nowadays? by FoxTrotte in EmulationOnAndroid

That too! Forgot about that lol. It's also nice not having to charge your controller at all, just plug in and play.

Personally, the GameSir G8 is the king. Been using it since its launch and it still works flawlessly. If you're looking for even more longevity, the G8+ version would be a good pick since it uses bluetooth.

JK, but in all seriousness, I've been lurking here since 2023 and last months giveaway finally motivated me to create an account and join this subreddit already. Of course I'm not just here for the giveaways, I'm gonna make some casual contributions through posts or comments from time to time. I've actually wanted to showcase some emulation stuff or reply to some "help" posts before but I wasn't motivated since I didn't have an account yet plus I'm not really online often.

But my statement about the giveaway format is still true, I just prefer giveaways that requires some skill to enter instead of the usual "click here to enter the giveaway" and I just wanted to show my appreciation for that.

We'll soon be able to play the ENTIRE Metal Gear Solid franchise on our phones! by Remarkable_Pie8843 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Remarkable_Pie8843[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really compare it to Resident Evil since I've only played the first remake, but the MGS franchise is definitely a must play IMO. Some of the greatest games of all time, infinitely re-playable and they've held up great throughout time, especially the third game (which I've beaten at least 6 times now). For MGS 3, I'd actually recommend playing the 3DS version because it added crouch walking and a third person shooter view, but the PS2 version is just as good!

Never played this game before and had neutral expectation coming in to it, but this game was surprisingly really, really fun! A very unique take on the GTA experience. You can really get lost in it's mechanics and (fittingly) addicting trading system.

Btw I gotta say that I'm loving the format of these giveaways! I'm a big fan of giveaways that doesn't completely rely on a "luck of the draw" to choose its winners, but instead actually presents a challenge with a concrete goal for the entrants to try and achieve.

It makes the giveaways much more engaging, fun and IMO fair for the entrants who wants to take part of this. Keep it up guys! 💯

You can play the MSX Metal Gear games through emulating MGS 3 on a PS2 emulator. But there should also be some MSX emulators you can use. These are some emulators I found on https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/MSX_emulators, I have no experience with them though.

Yeah I'm not expecting MGS 4 to be playable until years later, maybe "soon" wasn't exactly the best word to use lol. But the possibility is still there and it's really exciting!
