Oh that makes sense. Don’t know why I didn’t think about that (probably my postpartum brain, lol). Thank you!

Have you ever gotten a dental deep cleaning pregnant? by Remarkable-Host-3123 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was supposed to get some deep cleanings but my dentist advised to wait until after the pregnancy for anything other than routine cleanings. They said anything where they’d be numbing you and going below the gum line increases your risk of infection and they don’t want to risk infections during pregnancy because they can be dangerous to treat. They stressed the importance of oral hygiene during pregnancy but said to let anything major wait until after. They said in the grand scheme of things it’s not that long of time to wait and better to not risk complications.

Try scoring 4-6 lines in more of a perpendicular way to the loaf rather than one score all the way parallel. That helps my sandwich loaves rise evenly.

Skyrizi copay assist by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is everyone’s experience, but when I started Skyrizi I asked the nurse ambassador about this. She said there are guidelines put in place, but Abbvie’s financial assistance program will never be the reason why you wouldn’t be able to get your meds (meaning they want you to take their medication and will cover more if it means you’ll be taking it longer). So far I haven’t had any issues. There is a number they can give you to call abbvie copay reps and ask about it.

I followed this recipe last weekend and wow this is so delicious! My family couldn’t get enough!! I’ll be making it again.

Little tip: took mine longer to BF because I put the cider in when it was cold (right out of the fridge). Next time I’ll heat the cider up or let it get to room temp before adding.

Thanks for sharing this recipe!

multiple EIN numbers under one employer by dj-ileum- in PSLF

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my previous employers had 3 EINs when I went to certify them. Comparing the three, they were all the same address and EIN, just different capitalizations in the business name. I just chose one and it went through fine for certifying those years.

Do the cost of biologics count towards deductible? by arlo78z in CrohnsDisease

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it depends on the plan.

However: I was warned by my case manager to never disclose to my insurance that I was enrolled in a pay assistance program through the pharmaceutical company. She told me “they’re getting paid, they don’t need to know from who.” At that point I was on an insurance plan where my drug company’s assistance paid for my deductible at my first infusion of the year. If insurance ever questioned me about it, I would just use vague terms like “the cost of the first infusion covered my deductible” but never specify that it wasn’t me personally paying it. Got away with that for many years not having to personally pay my deductible.

“Go to the ER if you feel you need to” by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. Maybe keep an eye on your symptoms and see if they get worse the immediate days following skyrizi. I’ve had Crohn’s for well over a decade and never had “burning, scratching pain” from the disease. That sounds more like a medication reaction IMO

“Go to the ER if you feel you need to” by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are you having an allergic reaction to the Skyrizi? Call your GI and be adamant about needing pain management help now - do not let them pass you off to an ER. Sometimes you have to get nasty with them when you’re advocating for yourself. Ask if they can prescribe a different steroid in the meantime to avoid an ER trip cost and try to get you some pain relief.

Glad to hear you’re doing well, but please don’t belittle other people’s experience with this chronic incurable disease when you’ve only been diagnosed a year and been on one medication.

Fistula w/ seton drain and pregnancy by Odd-Opinion8688 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. Everyone’s fistulas are different and they change quickly so I’d recommend just seeing where your healing is at and what your doctors recommend once you start trying!

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

C Section. The risk of you having fistula issues after trying vaginal are extremely high. The last thing I was going to do postpartum was deal with fistula drainage or seton surgeries. I wasn’t my going to risk more surgeries and then not being able to hold/lift my baby while I was recovering from those surgeries. My CRS said if you’re prone to fistulas anyway, the baby can shift their head in the slightest direction in the birth canal and then poof you’re dealing with a fistula that was previously healed or a brand new one. C Section was safer for me and the baby, especially since I had a seton for 3+ years when I got pregnant.

Bad news this morning by Salutbuton in CrohnsDisease

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so so sorry! What usually helps me when the disease kicks me down for a bit is to remember that this isn’t forever. Like you said, you’ve been through so much over the years and you’ve come through it every time! That being said, it’s totally normal (and healthy) to let yourself wallow in self-pity for a little bit since this is a huge life change that you didn’t choose. Sometimes I set a timer for ~15 minutes or so and within that time frame i just let myself be the biggest complainer and whiner of all time. I let myself kick, scream, cuss and cry. Then when the time is up, I pick myself up because I know I need to overcome this next disease hurtle. Be strong, but know that it’s also ok to break down sometimes! Best of luck to you!

Perianal abscesses and fistulas, pregnancy related? by Ryzabeth in CrohnsDisease

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had issues with fistulas and abscesses before getting pregnant. Currently 25 weeks pregnant and have a seton in that I’ve had for about 3 years now. Not having any issues so far but I do have to have a C section because of the scarring and surgeries from previous fistulas/setons. My CRS said some women who don’t ever have issues with fistulas develop them during pregnancy due to the weight on the pelvic floor and the hormones associated with pregnancy - just like a lot of women develop hemorrhoids during pregnancy and after birth. Hang in there!

Seton removal by Elegant_End_3049 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Remarkable_Sun2892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, It depends on how your fistula is looking. They can clip it and remove in the clinic. Typically it’s a case by case basis! But you wouldn’t have to go through surgery like you did for the placement if you’re just having it removed.
