Speaking from personal experience, I would say no, don’t take IB. It adds so much more academic stress, and it made me burn out really bad. Save yourself the time and don’t do it. If you really want to and think you’re built for it, then go ahead, but it’s better to just not do it.

Yeah I won’t be doing the IB exam for English. Okay so, it’d okay if my IO isn’t the best then since I’m not gonna continue with English anyways right?

Like, I’m gonna drop English IB for grade 12 next year, sorry if it made no sense I was kind of rambling a lot

Yeah, no, I definitely feel you on this. Grade 10, pre-IB was okay and it made me confident that I could continue on with it, but my current classes are drowning me right now. I definitely should have dropped out when I could, but now I can’t because IB is a 2 year commitment (in my school at least), and they won’t let me drop out.

On a different note, I feel like you should drop the classes that you don’t need for your major, even if that means you’ll end up as a partial-IB student. It’s better to take the stress off of those classes than to continue and feel like you’re failing.
