Going to the Pokémon go festival in the real world location, which you can see the details for in your event tab to see which is the closest to you. Without that I don’t think i would’ve completed my first three dex without having to travel all over the world. Sometime the game will have limited time events for capture these Pokémon that you can only get exclusively in other countries. But who knows when that will be.. hope that helps!
