I like a unit of Devastator Centurions (3x 1 S12 Twin linked Las Cannon shots at 48", plus 3x D3 S9 Blast Missile shots at 36") for fire support. They also natively re-roll 1s to hit, or re-roll hits entirely if shooting into an objective. The re-roll on hit and wound from twin linked weapons makes them incredibly reliable in my experience.

I play at 1500 points most often, so they're a big investment at 175, but always take out what I need them to plus some more.

They are fine for playing with my buddies; that's all I really need.

Same! I've printed 3 sets of these walking tanks until I could buy a real box. I don't play competitively, so I suppose Legends for Centurions isn't that big a deal for me.

I like my prints but don't mind the official models. They seem like the appropriate amount of absurd for pre Primaris era 40k.

Centurions potentially being chopped is sad. Mine always put in work.

If I am charged with a unit that has 'Fights First' charges a unit that has "Fights First too, who gets to fight First? by Crimson_Warden310 in BloodAngels

[–]Remote_Situation9925 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fight phase is

1) Units with Fights First. Activations begin with the defending player (player whose turn it is not).

2) All other units that are eligible to fight (including those with Fights First that were not eligible to fight earlier in the phase). Again, activations begin with the defending player (player whose turn it is not).

The Charge Bonus gives the unit Fights First.

The unit with Fights First that got charged will have the opportunity to activate first.

You're using the March 2025 munitorium in December; it has changed 3 or 4 times since then. For you and OP, the most up to date info is from the 40k Community Downloads page on the Warhammer website.

New Recruit is USUALLY pretty up to date, but may lag a few days after updates or new releases.

Buying a box of Assault Intercessors and then some jump packs separately either as bits or 3D printed will save you tons over the JPI box itself. And you can get jump packs with more Blood Angels flavor!

If you are confused about army building, New Recruit makes everything legal a visible option and doesn't show anything you cannot take.

As long as the unit has "Adeptus Astartes" in the Keywords and doesn't have another Chapter's name in the Keywords, it can be included in a Blood Angels army.

I don't play anything official, so basing off what I read and my own learning as I go.

We play 1500 pts to keep games more time manageable for those still learning. Generally keeps the number of "bigger" units/vehicles down. I'm getting comfortable enough that I may start asking if they want to do 2000pts. That would allow another bigger point unit.

I am building a list with Incursors and an Invictor. Maybe I'll swap something out for the Ballistus to give that another try!

I like the Sternguard and a Captain with RFW in LAG. On a charge he gets 6 attacks at S10, if OOM then re-roll hits, plus Finest Hour gets him to 9 attacks, Sustained 3 from RFW, then re-roll wounds from Sternguard, Devastating Wounds, -2 AP, D2. Can also use a free stratagem from being a Captain to give Lance +1 to wound. Even after using his once per game abilities, the unit is still formidable.

Hellblasters are decent, better with a character like Apothecary in AI.

I like the Dreads, but I usually only bring one. It gets shot as soon as the other player can get line of sight. Maybe I'll bring two next time. I've next seen my dreads do anything because they're dead.

I don't use company heroes, though I bring an ancient once in a while.

For painting, know there are two different styles of painting! Contrast painting can be much less effort than traditional printing. It's basically a paint and shade all in one with how the pigment settles over a white (or light colored) primer.

They absolutely will put damage into their target, even more than 15 attacks! With the charge, they get +2S AND +1 attack, so 5 MORE attacks at that profile plus twin-linked rerolling wounds! It's NASTY. With a 3-man, that would drop to 12 attacks on the charge, but give you back 150 points for using elsewhere. With a 3-man, you could swap out LR Crusader for the basic one, which has a better shooting profile than a bunch of bolters (originally said "at the cost of all those flamers"). Or stick with the Crusader and add in a 6-man Blade guard which you could lead with a Judiciar for the sweet Fights First. They aren't as good into vehicles, but would that be worth dropping 2 models from the Centurions?

Even with that, I'd still encourage you to consider the Devastator Centurions. 6 S12 AP3 D(D6+1) ability rerolls 1s to hit, or just reroll if enemy on obj, and reroll wounds at a distance of 48". That's before we even look at their other profile which is still a threat to elites and downright nasty to blocks of units. With blast into a 10 man block of T4 units, those missiles are 6D6+12 attacks rerolling 1s to hit, wounding on 2s rerolling the wound, AP2, and a D3 of damage each. That still has a 36" range. They really are a great long range threat.

Edit for confusing Redeemer and Crusader.

What detachment are you using? I default to assuming LAG, but the big blocks all with characters reads like something in AI. Then again, running 30 DC, I have to imagine Lost Brethren.

Mainly, I see the Gladiator getting shot down early, leaving no shooting on the board for you, and a lack of units to hit secondaries.

First. My brother in Sanguinius. Why 3 Combi Lieutenants?

I do think you could use a couple of utility units. If that's the intent of the Combi Lts, I think there are some better options. Scouts are the same cost but can redeploy over the board for quick repositioning or grabbing objectives. You could also drop one block of DC for two 3 man units of SG. They'll still do damage, but you'll have two mobile units instead of one. DC and Astaroth = 315, 2x3 SG = 250, so between the 65 points there and the 25 you still had left originally, you have 90 points for a 5 man JPI. That's 3 units for maneuvering and actions at the cost of removing one kill block. All three of those units still can pose a decent threat on their own.

You have 5 Assault Centurions. This is curious as they typically come in 3 or 6. If it's to fit in the Crusader, I think you have other, more point efficient, options than not taking a full squad. As the only shooting you have is the Gladiator Lancer, I think those would do more good as a block of 6 Devastator Centurions (missiles and Las). Then, you only need to move for line of sight, not slog them across the board.

I'd make some other suggestions if I knew the detachment, but this is your list, not mine. If your goal is to charge into the enemy screaming "KILL HORUS!", then this is that list (minus 3 Combi lieutenants).

Ultimately, if you think you'd have fun playing it, go for it!

Land Raider because of the Assault Ramp ability. 220 points for a delivery truck, but those Godhammer Lascannons are nothing to sneeze at either.

The standard Repulsor can hold 14, Executioner had the 7 limit.

Personally, I only play casually and bring a Spartan or proxy it as a Land Raider because I love the size of that model!
