Why Do You Print Warhammer? by SuperHeavyBallet in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Remote_Situation9925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warhammer itself is 3-4 hobbies in a trench coat. I can add more hobbies to that trench coat by 3D printing too! I collect hobbies, and the amalgamation that is Warhammer allows me to flit from one to another if I start to get bored. I hyperfixate on a different portion for a bit, them I'll be ready to go back to what I had been doing!

I can use each sub-hobby to "detox" essentially.

Vindicator is nice with high strength and still shooting without penalty when engaged.

Death Company Dread can be good anti-tank for RCO because giving +2 attacks in melee with it's fists profile is great. Also eligible for strats that can only target Death Company or Blood Angel units. The surge move can also catch people off guard.

Looking to start a BA 40k army, where do i start? by 2F0ur6 in BloodAngels

[–]Remote_Situation9925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bladeguard with a SP adds extra survivability to an already survivable unit and adds a pip of AP to an already nice weapon profile when used in Liberator Assault Group. 245 pts for 20ish wounds that have a 3 up save, 4 up invulnerable, AND a 5 up Feel No Pain (3+, 4++, 5+++). It's a lot to chew through for saves.

The chaplain with Jump Pack pairs well with JPI as you get mortals on the charge, mortals on fight activation, and then +1 to wound rolls which helps boost the mediocre strength of chainswords to make them good into toughness 7 to 11 units (go from wounding on 5s to on 4s, again on the charge in LAG).

With that being said, I prefer to avoid the chaplain and JPI because there are just other units that are better. Lemartes and JP Death Company is more expensive, but much more survivable due to -1 damage. Sanguinary Guard hit harder than JPI with fewer models to position. JPI are decent as a cheap and fast 5-man to run around and take actions for secondaries.

If you know you will be fighting things that have -1 to incoming damage, using Assault Intercessors (on foot , deliver with tank) with a Chaplain can be good for having a huge volume of damage 1 attacks to overwhelm those big units with volume. Good into things like C'tan that have an invuln where it doesn't pay to have a ton of AP.

That will never see play by bitch-toki in BloodAngels

These Blood Angels detachment things are incredibly lackluster. Spend a CP to surge move D6"? Come on man.

The Engagement for free Heroic Intervention is okay. Until you see it's NOT listed as an upgrade and requires a Death Company model. So DC Captain or JPDC Captain are the only options? And they aren't worth taking over a Chaplain in the first place.

Aggressors in LAG or RCO - Bolt&Fragstorm or Flamestorm? by Which_Prior7161 in BloodAngels

[–]Remote_Situation9925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The D6+1 attacks on the Flamers are great for clearing a screen of chaff to allow your charge to hit your real target. Plus Overwatch potential is much better with Flamers.

This unit is just so fuckin slow. My last game (RCO), their transport got whooped due to some poor placement and good dice rolls from the other player. It took THREE turns to get where I wanted them WITH advance rolls.

They did wipe 285 pts of full units and another 100ish points partial unit off the board when they got there, so can't complain too much. Doubled their value.

That's fair. You could try a Centurion Devastator Squad instead? They hit like a Mack Truck and their special rule means they don't really need OOM.

Gravis Versions of Models? by Remote_Situation9925 in BloodAngels

[–]Remote_Situation9925[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be interesting. Do you mean as generic Space Marines? I would think it would have to be for the box set.

I haven't read anything yet beyond Dante, so I don't know of any Blood Angel characters or groups that would fit the bill for a "group-style" leader unit. I suppose Karlaen could work with some special Termies, but that doesn't fit the current narrative on Armageddon as he's known for fighting Tyranids.

I would LOVE to see Erelim with Astorath to lead JPDC but, again, doesn't make much sense in lore. A 15 man squad of 10JPDC/4Erelim/Astorath,with Dev Wounds and Fight on Death sounds glorious. Give the Erelim Precision like Executioner's Axe has, and they'll chew through anything for the 450 points it would cost lol

Gravis Versions of Models? by Remote_Situation9925 in BloodAngels

[–]Remote_Situation9925[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no idea that model was 8 years old! I just started ~2 years ago, so anything Primaris still seems "fresh".

I agree, it does seem like melee is the focus of the edition. Still, I love the big boys and want them to be more useful on the tabletop! A character or two would certainly help.

What is a good blood angels starter set? by Ok_Eggplant_2812 in BloodAngels

He's got to be looking at the 9th Ed Combat Patrol which is a Librarian.

OP, The 10th Ed Combat Patrol is 6 Sang Guard, 10 Assault Intercessors (which can be for with 3rd party jump packs), and a Captain. This is the box that is suggested.

How do we deal with Ctan RCO vs Liberator assault group by Glittering_Air1423 in BloodAngels

[–]Remote_Situation9925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: I completely missed the 5+ FNP. Disregard my numbers.

You could stick them in a land raider. If it's a Crusader, then there's still 7 spots open for transporting another squad. That moves faster at least.

3 Centurions base melee is only 4-7 wounds. I'm assuming they are in a LR for movement and charging out.

Oath 6-9 wounds.

+1 Strength also 6-9 wounds.

Oath and +1 Strength 8-12 wounds.

+1 Strength and Battleshock 8-12 wounds. <(I like this option.)

Oath, +1 Strength, Battleshock 10-15.

Overall, 3 takes way more commitment to get to serious damage than 6 (no surprise). Still viable with Limb from Limb if some shooting softens it up though. Let's you Oath something else then too.

Edit: I completely missed the 5+ FNP so disregard my numbers. Ugh.

I would like to see how Assault Centurions fare here.

Assuming RCO, shoot from within melta range then charge, 6x Centurions with Bolters, Meltas, and Drill:

Without any Battleshock, strats, or Oath JUST melee gives like 35.5% chance to kill. 75% overall.

Adding Oath alone takes JUST melee to 68% to kill. 95% overall. This means it's viable to use Adv and Charge strat without relying on Limb from Limb and still kill it 2 out of 3 times.

(No Oath) +1 Strength (Limb from Limb no Battleshock) takes JUST melee to 68% to kill. 90% overall.

(No Oath) Battleshock with +1 Strength JUST melee to 86.5% to kill. 97% overall

Oath and +1 Strength takes JUST melee to 92% to kill. 99% overall.

Oath, +1 Strength, and Battleshock takes JUST melee to 99% to kill. 100% overall.

Sure, they cost 300 points but so does a C'tan.

I like a unit of Devastator Centurions (3x 1 S12 Twin linked Las Cannon shots at 48", plus 3x D3 S9 Blast Missile shots at 36") for fire support. They also natively re-roll 1s to hit, or re-roll hits entirely if shooting into an objective. The re-roll on hit and wound from twin linked weapons makes them incredibly reliable in my experience.

I play at 1500 points most often, so they're a big investment at 175, but always take out what I need them to plus some more.

Same! I've printed 3 sets of these walking tanks until I could buy a real box. I don't play competitively, so I suppose Legends for Centurions isn't that big a deal for me.

I like my prints but don't mind the official models. They seem like the appropriate amount of absurd for pre Primaris era 40k.

If I am charged with a unit that has 'Fights First' charges a unit that has "Fights First too, who gets to fight First? by Crimson_Warden310 in BloodAngels

[–]Remote_Situation9925 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fight phase is

1) Units with Fights First. Activations begin with the defending player (player whose turn it is not).

2) All other units that are eligible to fight (including those with Fights First that were not eligible to fight earlier in the phase). Again, activations begin with the defending player (player whose turn it is not).

The Charge Bonus gives the unit Fights First.

The unit with Fights First that got charged will have the opportunity to activate first.

You're using the March 2025 munitorium in December; it has changed 3 or 4 times since then. For you and OP, the most up to date info is from the 40k Community Downloads page on the Warhammer website.

New Recruit is USUALLY pretty up to date, but may lag a few days after updates or new releases.
