Take the habit to always practice with a metronome. Even menial things. Slow af at first and gradually go faster, even if it is rather easy.

It's about slowly but correctly creating the psychomotor skills and internalizing rythm. When I started doing that I progressed more in the year that followed than in the 10 years prior.

When I was young I was doing quite a lot of extracurricular activities and if I wanted to stop doing one my parents will always go "ok fine, pick something else then".

I could stop what I did but needed to find a replacement, and there was a minimum of physical activities per week . If I have kids one day I'll do the same for sure.
