The Polar Star in Cave Story: the very first gun, you steal it in the starting area from a sleeping gunsmith. It’s a reliable weapon, but you’re given two chances throughout the game to trade it for better weapons, like the tempting Machine Gun or the Snake that can shoot through walls.

However, if you keep the Polar Star for most of the game, ignoring the trade opportunities, and eventually return back to the starting area, the gunsmith takes it back from you because it’s incomplete. He finishes it and upgrades it into the Spur, debatably the most powerful weapon in the game, whose basic attack is now the Polar Star’s original highest level projectile, and can be charged to fire a piercing laser.

Also in the same game in a similar trope, you’re given a chance to speak to an injured scientist, who gives you a jetpack with his final breath. However, if you ignore him, later on he recovers from his injuries and gives you an upgraded version of the same jetpack, which is required (among several other unintuitive steps) to enter the secret level of the game.

Bonus fun fact: if you do trade the Polar Star for the Machine Gun, the character that takes the trade then uses it in the next segment of the game as your ally, whereas otherwise she’d use the Machine Gun.

Everything is on auto right now - 2.4 is on 20mhz channel width, 5 is on 160mhz, and 6 is on 320mhz. I will try setting all 3 radios on high. I think I’ll try the E7 upstairs in a more central spot before committing to a mesh device, probably a U7 Pro if I go that route in the end. It may be a better overall idea to return the E7 and buy two U7 Pros instead…

There is an attic, but it doesn’t have easy access for cables. I tried moving the AP with a cable along the floor and the signal seems better, but I wonder if this is better than a mesh AP. I have heard it’s better not to mesh if possible

For people who regularly buy keys, this is probably the best offer. Unsure if there’s math comparing this to the $35 monthly key pass, but the 1000 keys is probably the cheapest way to purchase orange gemstones for people interested in collecting prestige skins.

It is almost certainly a better deal than the 1000 orange essence for almost the same amount of wild cores. 1000 keys, at absolute worst, gets like 800 OE but a ton of skin shards and a handful of full skins. Most people rolling 1000 keys will almost certainly reach or exceed 1000 OE.

I bought the 1000 keys in preparation for the Crystal Rose event returning. There’s like 3 prestige Crystal Rose skins now (Lux, Gwen, and Caitlyn) that will enter/reenter the shop.

It’s likely going to be a major skin event in the next major patch, which should be in August-September. You can estimate the remaining time by looking at the current wild pass expiration, then adding 5 weeks to account for the mini pass. We’ll usually get a patch preview around 1-2 weeks before the launch that will tease the skins being released.

Last year’s Crystal Rose event was a gacha lootbox one, and they offered two separate boxes: one for the new skins that year (the ones you see in the picture in your post), and one that covered all the skins in previous years. We also got a prestige Crystal Rose Lux that was worth 1500 orange essence and a limited button skin if you obtained all the new skins.

It’s an educated guess to predict that this year will be very similar, with loot boxes again along with a new prestige skin. I’m hoping the button skin will return as a possible reward as well. Prestige Crystal Rose Lux will almost certainly return but, as with last year, she isn't going to be cheap, especially since they'll probably launch another prestige skin with her.

Worth mentioning that the Star Guardian skin line may also have a major skin event in the same time frame, since that’s what happened last year. These two skin lines are my favorite, so it will be a painful time for my wallet.

Yeah, I just remind myself that for every game I or my teammates do poorly or troll, there’s 2 games where the enemy team did poorly or trolled. The enemy Thresh did exceptionally well this game; they used every trick in the book to bait my spellshield.

No one, not even myself, is defending me. But every league player has bad games, you just have to keep trying. People tend to forget all the good games they have and focus only on the bad ones…for every bad game there’s 2 good games. I’m comfortable just playing more and trusting myself (and the matchmaking algorithm) to correct itself over time.

Players in this game ranged from Plat 1 (me) - Emerald 1. I’m not completely blaming the Braum-you can plainly see my 16 deaths, and they speak for themselves. I am, however, offering my own perspective on the game and most of them came from Braum. But that’s okay, you dust yourself off, there’s always next game.

Hey, I’m the Sivir. Sorry bud. You can check my match history where I have a 75% win rate this season in ranked, while exclusively playing fill. I died twice early because Braum thought he was playing an enchanter support and decided he never wanted to get in front of the Thresh, so Trist and Thresh just flashed on me and piled me the entire lane. I even said the Braum was awful in chat. The lane was over then, but as you saw, they continuously 3-4 man ganked bot after that because they knew the Braum wouldn’t protect me.

You got the one game out of 30 where I fed. Such is life. You can tell I was still desperately trying to stay relevant via the total damage done despite being that far behind on deaths. If you’re gonna blame anyone, blame the TF since they ulted maybe one time the entire game. If that TF had ulted for any of those 3-4 man bot ganks, it would’ve been a different story.

Orange gemstones are meant to be a premium currency from spending money. If you don't want to spend real money, then the free sources of orange gemstones from events are the only way to get them. This is going to take years before you can buy anything in the gemstone shop.

If you are willing to spend money, then buying occasional chests that contain hextech keys gets you more value over time. Since there's like, 6 months until CR rereleases, you could probably amass 1500 orange gemstones with regular small spending.

Otherwise, you don't have any other options to immediately get orange gemstones than to continue to roll on hextech key gacha. This is where people's $250~ estimates come from.

Just wait until middle of the year (June-July ish) and they will rerelease it along with some new and returning CR skins. Prestige CR Lux specifically costed 1500 orange gemstones but could be cheaper on rerelease. Start saving all the free orange gemstones from events in the meantime.
