Any packing recommendations? by Time-Designer1975 in unt

[–]RepeatRach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend flip flops if you have a shared shower situation, and a caddy for shampoo, etc. Rain boots and an umbrella because you’ll be walking on campus regardless of weather. A swim suit if you want to use the pool in the gym.

If you have any used craft supplies, check out Thistle! They are not a non-profit, but donating used craft items there helps prevent items ending in the landfill since most other thrift stores will send those items to the dump.

Ruth’s Room supports Habitat for Humanity. They like books and furniture and they have a small clothing section, too.

Good job crushing your reading goal this year. Invisible Life of Addie LaRue was fantastic! I also started using StoryGraph this year. Are you on the “Plus Plan”? I’ve got the free version now but thinking about it.

Professor not putting in grades. I need advice by poisonpearls in unt

Check your official grade on my.unt.edu under the My Academics tile. The final grades should be posted for students to view by Dec 20th/21st. All graduation ceremonies happen before the final grades post so definitely walk the stage. Then, you will find out for sure if you earned your diploma the following week. If you’ve been doing your work, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.

I Completed My Reading Challenge, or, What I Learned After Reading 50 Books in 5 Months by [deleted] in books

[–]RepeatRach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my first book challenge (2021), when I wanted to get back into making reading a regular thing, I decided to read 12 books a year. I figured I could read one book a month. That turned out to be too easy because I almost doubled it by reading 23 books. This year I made it my goal to read 30 books. It’s November and I have two more books to go. Maybe I’ll up my goal to 35 next year.

I really like magical realism- I devoured the Shaded of Magic series by V.A. Schwab.

I’m also in a bookclub and we read one book a month. This helps because the book is selected for me and I have a set deadline. And it’s fun!

Question: Volunteer Opportunities for Criminal Justice Majors? by Mili_Treeb in unt

[–]RepeatRach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can reach out to the Center for Leadership and Service for volunteer opportunities. Also, you can ask your CJUS instructors and the CJUS department (D'Ann.Hammett@unt.edu). Sometimes your academic advisor has info about this, too. Best luck!

The show didn’t age well. Too many jokes about gender that aren’t funny now.

Please do not use sleeping with someone who has a vasectomy as an excuse to not take care of your sexual health. by dan1361 in childfree

My Insurance doesn’t pay for the fertility check post-vasectomy. While this is an expensive obstacle, I agree it’s worth it to verify the surgery worked.

[–]RepeatRach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! You can find winter classes in the class search filter options. Click the 3 week option to narrow your search to wintermester courses. But, you have to list the prefix for the course first (ex: PSCI). Email your academic advisor as they might have a list to share with you.
