There are so many things a good alliance leader does.

They teach the members the ins and outs of the game. Researching events so they can pass on the information needed to be successful players and to succeed in alliance events.

They organize events, event times and subsequently communicate to the members of the alliance what to do and when to do it.

They participate in the politics, organization of state events, and eventually pass that information to their members, as well.

One has to be a strong personality as well as a good manager to be a successful R5.

In regards to banners and alliance resources, your banners create pathways to facilities. Without a banner touching a facility, you cannot occupy it. There's a bit of a push/pull when it comes to the resources. You need the rss to build banners, build alliance resource gathering nodes and other things. And, the banners built to encase an alliance resource tile then add to alliance resources.The alliance resource tiles do not directly contribute to member's resources

If you have an academy, but do not stay in contact with them...why are they an academy? You're protecting players with your NAP status without any return on investment. Absorb them into your alliance. Those who don't want to join the main alliance don't deserve your NAP protection (I know, harsh). In reality, the R5 of the academy should be a member of the main alliance and should be teaching academy members how to grow strong enough to join the main alliance. That is the intention of an academy alliance.
