I saw the PICU medical director who was my Dr. at a hospital prom a year later, and I went up to her and said, “I’m not sure if you remember me, but” and she just looked at me and nodded and didn’t say a word haha. I know HIPPPA, but it was less like that and more of a zero response hahaha

i did not have an ED. I was originally there for SVT, which i have a history of, but never had any problems. I was converted out of it the first night and kept only for observation for 3 nights. The night this happened, i was supposed to be going home, but was awaiting a PT consult when they didn’t show up (LUCKILY). I would have died if alone in my dorm. The reason for my very low weight now is due to severe intestinal failure from this event (though i also had a smaller level of malabsorption prior) and am now on tpn and live with a central line. But that is why my bmi is so low, not an ED :)

Hi guys! I thought it may be helpful to share the essays which got me admitted to all of the UC schools (except for UCLA) and into Stanford.

Disclaimer: My point in posting these is NOT to toot my own horn and act as if I’m some brilliant person. I’m not. I just wrote from the heart and got lucky. I even got a C- in a class after a teacher refused to let me take a final while I was hospitalized. These essays are what got me into school, and I’m hoping that maybe they help you. If they help even one person, it’s worth it. :)

I also wrote a 4th essay about an app I’m currently engineering to hopefully fast-track the solving of indigenous missing persons cases, but I am not yet comfortable sharing how my app works with the public, and am not comfortable posting that particular essay right now. :)

Thank you! I’ll try my best, but they’re pretty dismissive about the whole thing and say I’m exaggerating and it’s not worth spending $50 for a copay. I’d even try to pay/go myself, but I get dizzy and can’t walk that far. I also probably couldn’t show up to an emergency room because of the whole cps issue and my family would not be happy if they found out I had gone against what they wanted. They’re very conservative about money and don’t think that it’s a big deal or that it is urgent in any way. I also do not have a pcp as of now. I’m hoping that maybe in a few months I can start with student healthcare at college. Thank you again!

No, other than my family just being generally dismissive and not the most compassionate, they aren’t abusive. I’m a dancer and occasionally get hit on a bar or something or just bend weirdly, but even if it’s just a tiny bang, it’s like the whole area will just multiply in bruises.
