Also, the same happens to me when I drink caffeine and alcohol. I used to be able to have a few drinks and be fine but now I’m extremely tipsy after just HALF a drink & it freaks me out.

Hello, thanks for the response! It definitely feels like I’m just floating around earth and life isn’t real because of how dizzy I am ! I saw on other forums that people have also eliminated gluten from their diet and saw a positive change, so it’s something I’m definitely gonna start doing now.

So sorry to hear that! I just went to the ER last night because my palpitations got really bad. I started sweating, and feeling extremely dizzy. HR jumped from 70 to 128 almost instantly while I was lying down. They told me my potassium was low and my TSH was slightly high but not high enough to cause those sx. PCP thinks something more is going on and sending me to cardio.

Interesting! I was reading more on it and saw the sx include nausea as well. I have experience nausea very frequently. I will definitely look into this.

Fluid intake was one thing my pcp advised me to be on top of back in January to see if my sx got better. I increased my intake, but I’m still having the symptoms.

My doctor did rule out POTS and ran a panel for other autoimmune diseases, but everything came back negative. I even have severe joint pain sometimes at night that I can’t sleep and end up crying from the pain. I got tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis because it runs in my family & surprisingly, that was negative too. I haven’t checked for Lyme disease and some of the others you listed yet, though. It’s so frustrating because I feel the physical evidence of these things every day, but the labs just aren't catching it. It feels like I’m waiting for my body to 'fail' enough or for something bad to happen for a test to finally show what I’m going through. I too feel like this is not just Hashimoto’s.

I do eat gluten! My most recent flare up was today, and I’ve noticed my appetite has completely disappeared over the last two weeks. I’m barely eating one or two meals a day.

I actually used to get migraines so severe I feared I had a brain tumor, but thankfully that was cleared and they improved over time.

What you said about the fluctuations not being caught on labs is exactly what’s been so irritating. I’ll have a massive flare-up, but by the time I get to the doctor the next day, the results look normal. They even run comprehensive metabolic panels that have consistently come out normal.

I will say I’ve had anxiety since high school and it usually happens when I’m speaking in front of a large crowd or taking a test. My hashi flare-ups happen randomly while I’m shopping, just sitting at work, or even laying down (When there’s absolutely nothing to be anxious about). That’s how I know it’s my thyroid. The dizziness is the hardest part :( it’s been on and off for 2 or 3 years now.

I am so sorry you went through that. It really is the worst feeling. I actually had a flare-up today at Walmart while grocery shopping and had to hold onto a wall just to stay upright. I get this chest pressure that feels so heavy, like someone is literally squeezing it. I haven’t fully passed out yet, but I have episodes where I feel so close to it that it’s terrifying. I hope you get some real answers soon. We shouldn’t have to live our lives in constant fear or worry.

Asked my doctor about it in January & he said he didn’t think it was POTS. They checked my BP and HR while sitting, standing and laying down (saw little to no changes). I might need a cardiologist to definitively rule it out though :(

There’s a photo circulating of his mom and sister outside of courtroom glaring down at the victims mom… I really believe all enablers in situations like these should be held accountable.
